You breached the surface, gasping to catch your breath. You looked down, coughing as your hair canopied around you, making you unable to see who saved you.
Once your coughing fit ended, you continued to take gasping breaths. You eventually calmed down enough to remember you were in someone's arms. A hand came down and pushed your wet hair away from your face, revealing who saved you.
It was Jungkook.
The familiar face comforted you. He smiled playfully at you.
"Couldn't wait for me, could you?" You frowned at his comment, but chose to ignore it. You looked back up to see if you could see the 3 girls. You couldn't let them see Jungkook.
His gaze followed yours. He slowly swam and gently pressed your body against the rock towering above you. He looked back down at you.
"Are you ok? Who pushed you?" He asked, concern in his voice. You looked back at him.
"Yeah, I'm fine, I think. And no one really, just some people from my old high school." You couldn't meet his gaze. You didn't want him to know you were bullied. You didn't want him to think you were weak.
He frowned. He didn't believe you, but didn't pry either.
"So you actually came back?" He changed the subject. You looked back up into his soft, dark eyes.
"Well, yeah, you said to come back. That doesn't mean I trust you, but I just wanted some explaining." You told him. He smiled and laughed slightly.
He let go of you slowly and turned around. "Come on, put your arms around me." You looked him weirdly. "Hey, I already told you, you can trust me." He looked back at you and smiled.
You blushed slightly as you slowly wrapped your arms around his neck. He swam slowly farther out to sea until you came across a small reef with a rock that broke the surface.
He set you on the rock and you pulled yourself up further. The cold ocean air pierced your skin. You wrapped your arms around yourself, trying to maintain some body heat.
He propped himself up on his elbows and leaned against the rock. "By the way, I never got your name. What is it?" He asked.
"Um, (Y/N)."
"Huh, weird name."
"Well, what kind of name is Jungkook? You don't see me making fun of your name so don't make fun of mine." You narrowed your eyes at him. He just laughed. "How'd ya know my name?"
"I remembered it from yesterday. When that other mermaid called for you."
"Jungkook!" the same voice from yesterday called once again.
