Rhian's Legal Battles

Rhian's POV:

Lunes na, maaga pa lang ay lawyer ko na ang ka-meeting ko. I said sorry to Glaiza nung sabado pa ng gabi. Pero hanggang nyayon ay hindi pa din ito nagrereply. Tinatawagan ko din pero kinacancel naman nya ang tawag ko, hanggang sa nadadrop na lang bigla, wala man lang ring from her, I guess she barred my calls. Bianca my best friend was here all Sunday, we had a cook off all sunday long at syempre nagkwentohan tungkol sa ganap sa mga buhay pag-ibig namin.

Kinikilig si Bianca and hasn't stopped teasing me kahapon pa. Hanggang ngayon as we sat with Attorney Paula Hilao. Bianca couldn't stop teasing me. Pinaniningkitan ko na ng mata si Bianca pero ayaw pa din nya tumigil. 🙄😒 Hindi ako madaling mapikon, pero konti na lang talaga at bubuntalin ko na tong si Bianca. 😂🤣 Parang kaya ko diba?

"Bianca, stop it. Nauurat na ako sayo. Leche ka." I said to Bianca.

"Girls! Focus on the meeting please. Crucial ang arraignment na ito, dahil oras na makapag-piyansa si Jeremy, nanganganib ang buhay ni Rhian." Paula said to us both.

"Sorry Paula." Bianca said.

"Rhian, maswerte tayo at hindi pinayagang makapag-piyansa si Jeremy, pero kailangan nating igtingan ang kaso natin laban kay Jeremy para mapa-walang bisa na ang kasal ninyo." Paula said.

"Paula, paano kung mamaniobra tayo ng mga koneksyon ni Jeremy?" I asked Paula.

"Kaya nga paki-usap ko sayo, wag ka munang maghanap ng kapalit ni David, it's not good for your case. Stick to being single and you need to convince the court that your marriage should be annulled and that Jeremy should be in Prison." Paula said.

"Yung mga CCTV footage, hindi pa ba solid na patunay yun para ma-annul na ang kasal ko?" I asked Paula.

"Sapat lang ang mga CCTV footage, but the victim's speech on the ordeal is what matters. I need you to be mentally tough, you have escaped him, so it's okay to tell your truth to the Judge and the Jury." Paula said.

"Alam mo na ang gagawin mamaya ha? Mag-aappear lang tayo sa korte para pormal nang masampahan ng kaso ang ex mo." Paula said.

"Yes." I said to Paula.

"Okay, see you on the court house." Paula said.

"See you, later Attorney." I said to her.

Sabay tumayo na si Paula at umalis na. Naiwan kami ni Bianca na naka-upo sa back patio at nagkakape. Pareho kaming natahimik sa mga kaganapan ngayong umaga. Bianca was the one who broke silence and spoke to me.

"Don't worry Rhian, I'll be here for you babe." Bianca said.

"Salamat Bianca, kahit na napaka-kulit mo kanina. I'm glad I have you for my best friend." I said to her.

"Sa ngalan ng pag-ibig besh! Go fight tayo dyan!" Bianca said as she giggled to no end.

"Napaka-supportive naman talaga." I said giggling back at her as I took a sip of my coffee.

"Syempre, para sa inyo ni G, support ko kayo."

"Sino naman si G? God ba yan?" Tatawa-tawa kong sabi kay Bianca.

"Yung princess in shining armor mo. Si G as in Glaiza." 🙄😒 She said her eyes rolling.

"Ay naku, nadinig mo sabi ni Attorney Hilao, kailangan mag-focus muna sa kaso ko kay Jeremy." I said to her.

"Ang pride mo, kawawa naman si Glaiza. Siya na nga itong pumagitna siya pa nilaglag mo bigla." Bianca said to me.

"Bianca, tulad nga ng sabi ni Paula kanina lang, kahit gustuhin kong bigyan ng chance si Glaiza, hindi pa pwede, at least not until David and I are officially annulled and divorced."

"Hindi ba pwedeng lumandi ka kahit konti?" 😊 She said smiling naughtily at me. 

"Hindi nga daw pwede. Narinig mo na kay Attorney Hilao." I said as I shook my head.

"Corny nyo ni Paula. Sige na nga maligo ka na." Bianca said as she grabs the empty mug.

"Sama mo na to B." I said to her as I finished my coffee.

"Okay. Sige maligo na." Bianca said as she went inside to wash the mugs.

I went up to my room at nag ready ng damit. I took a shower after laying out my clothes on the bed. Pagtapos kong mag-shower nag-bihis na ako at nag-make up. Not so much that I look like a clown. Syempre ayaw ko naman ng ganun, gusto ko natural lang with highlights sa eyes. I've been told before that my eyes are expressive.

I wore my favorite black pants and a button down flowy shirt. I tucked it in and put on my black heels. Once done, lumabas na ako sa kwarto at nagtungo sa garahe, halos sabay lang kami ni Bianca lumabas ng kwarto, nauuna lang ako halos isang dipa.

"Looking good Rhiwhi!" Bianca said as she made her way out to the garage with me.

Sumakay na kami sa kotse ko, Andrew was the one driving us. Bianca, bless her heart didn't go to her restaurant for this day, dahil alam nyang kailangan ko ng suporta nya sa pag-haharap namin ni David sa korte.

We arrived at the courthouse after 20 minutes of driving, Bianca and I alighted the car. We were 10 minutes early for the arraignment. Bianca and I entered the courtroom. Bianca had to sit at the back of the court room, while I had to sit upfront with my lawyer. Si attorney Hilao was already preparing for the arraignment. She gently smiled at me as she waived me over beside her. Naka-Wayfarer Shades ako na itim, white flowy button down white blouse, black pants and heels.

After a few more minutes, nagsimula na ang arraignment proceedings. Jeremy David was ushered into the court room by police men, he was wearing his suit like last Saturday, only his polo was white now, when it was Gray last Saturday. Jeremy looked my way and flashed a naughty grin on his face, he was confident that he would win this.

"Rhian, don't mind him." Paula whispered.

"I know Paula, thank you for reminding me." I said to Paula.

"All Rise for His Excellency, Judge Ricardo Mata Sr." The court clerk said.

We rose from our seats as we greeted the Judge good morning.

"You may now sit." The court clerk said.

"RTC Branch 7, Batangas City is now in Session." The clerk announced.

The judge read out loud the cases being filed against Jeremy David Limjoco. Jeremy entered his plea of not guilty. Nagka-tinginan na lang kami ni Paula. It's going to be a wild ride.
