            Two Days Later

“Taylor, don’t be upset,” I pleaded as I hugged her. “I’m only going to be gone for two weeks, and as soon as my Europe shoots are done I’m coming right back here, okay?” I was just about to leave for the airport and I was trying to say goodbye to Taylor, but we were both fairly distraught. Unfortunately, we had jobs to go to and we couldn’t stay in our own little world forever.

“I know, but I’m going to miss you so much. Two weeks is a long time, and you’ve been with me for the past week straight!” She sighed. I could see the extra glisten in her crystal blue eyes and I knew she was trying not to cry. The last few days flew by because we were having so much fun. I know things moved really quickly between us, but I didn’t care. I had never felt the connection I have with Taylor with anyone else before, and I wanted to take advantage of it. We had spent the previous two days either tangled up with each other in bed or on the couch doing the same thing. I pressed my lips onto her forehead and stroked her short, blonde hair. “Tay, these two weeks are going to go by so quick, you’ll wonder why I came back so fast!” I giggled, trying to crack a smile out of her—it didn’t work.

“I know, but its just that after you come back there’s only another week left of my break from the Red Tour, and I still have all of the Asia dates to play. After the week you come back, we won’t see each other for two months!” Clearly trying to calm her down was making things worse, and the tears that previously welled in her eyes were streaming down her face.

“Taylor, babe, I know that we aren’t going to see each other. But we do have to go to work at some point. As much as we want to we can’t stay in your apartment forever. Besides, while you’re finishing up your tour I’ll be able to fly out and visit you, so we won’t be apart for that long.” I reminded her. She fixed her gaze on me and gave me a quick kiss on the lips. I wished that it had lasted longer, but she pulled away and said, “You’re right Karls. Let’s get through these two weeks first and then we’ll worry about my tour when it happens.” Her mood changed quickly, and I suddenly didn’t feel as bad about leaving. She always ended up being the optimistic one, and I loved that about her.

“Okay so you’ve got everything you need? Passport? Toothbrush? Wallet? Underwear?” Taylor listed off other objects that were on her ‘Traveling Essentials’ list. I had everything I needed, of course. My driver had arrived and was waiting for me on the street.

“Okay Taylor, I’ve got to go baby. I’ll call you when I get off the plane and let you know that I’m alright and everything, okay?” Tears filled her eyes and she wrapped her arms around my neck. After returning the hug I leaned in to give her one last kiss before I really had to leave.

“Hey, I love you Karls.” Taylor said matter-of-factly. “I love you too Tay.” I replied and quickly ran out the door.
