Karlie
The heat of the sun on my face had woken me up. I slowly opened my eyes, but I immediately squinted them as the sunlight blared in my face. Apparently I had forgotten to close the blinds last night, and now I was paying the price. I must be in California. I groaned internally, sitting up in the bed. Mornings were never my forte. Raising my arms above my head for a long, lazy stretch the images from last night started to playback in my mind. Taylor had crept into my room in the early hours of the morning and we spent God knows how long doing anything and everything to each other. I caught myself smiling at the memory, and stood up to throw some clothes on. Down the hall, I could hear Scott, Andrea, and Austin talking in the living room, so I decided to join them.
When I walked out of my room and down the hall, they were sitting in the living room watching TV.
“Good morning Karlie,” Andrea said. “Did you sleep alright? I know that the guest bed isn’t the most comfortable thing in the world.” She apologized, raising a hand to my shoulder.
“No! I had a really great sleep, thank you for letting me stay.” I replied gratefully.
“Don’t be silly, it’s our pleasure!” She laughed while she began to walk into the kitchen. “I’m just about to start making breakfast, is it okay if you give me a hand?” She asked.
“Of course! Let’s get started.” I agreed.
We started mixing the batter for some pancakes right away, and in less than five minutes I was standing in front of the stove, flipping them over in the pan.
“I’m just going to run out to the patio for a minute, is that okay Karlie?” Andrea asked, standing at the back door.
“Sure, I’ll be alright on my own.” I grinned at her. As soon as Andrea disappeared into the back yard, I felt a familiar pair of long, thin arms wrap themselves around my waist.
“Morning,” Taylor mumbled softly as she rested her head in the crook of my neck. I felt her turn her head and start to place delicate kisses on my shoulder. I quickly turned around so that I was facing her.
“Taylor! You’re dad is in the living room, and your mom is going to be back any second!” I gasped.
“So? They don’t care about a little PDA.” She reasoned, twisting a strand of my brown hair through her fingers.
“Yeah, but that’s more than ‘a little PDA’!” I laughed, turning back to the stove. Taylor stood beside me and placed her hand on my waist. I heard the back door slide open from across the room.
“Hey Taylor, how was your sleep.” Andrea asked, walking over to us.
“It was amazing,” Taylor gloated, giving me a quick glance. “But now I’m hungry enough to eat a house!” I sent a glare her way out of the corner of my eye, hoping that Andrea wouldn’t see. She had all but told her mom that her and I slept together last night.
