Taylor
“Taylor, thank you so much for coming back on the show. We also want to congratulate you on your successful tour! Hopefully we’ll be seeing you when your next album comes out! That’s all, from Good Morning America, Taylor Swift everybody!” The news anchor said, waving at the cameras. I waved my hand with a smile, and the producer shut off the red “ON AIR” sign.
Karlie and I arrived safely in New York yesterday, and I had just finished my segment on Good Morning America. Letting out a small sigh, I was eager to get out of the studio so I could enjoy my next few months off; and by “off” I meant, “diligently recording and finishing up my next album”, of course. I stood up from the desk and hugged the news anchor, thanked her for a great interview, and walked backstage. Karlie was standing just behind the cameras, grinning at me with her hands on her chest. She was wearing a simple outfit—just a graphic t-shirt and black skinny jeans, but it made her legs look as though they went on forever. Her hair was pulled back in a loose, messy bun, and her Ray Bans were propped on top of her head.
“You did great!” She exclaimed, pulling me in for a hug.
“Thank you!” I replied, tangling my fingers with hers. “I’m happy that it’s over though; now we have the whole day to ourselves.” I scrunched my nose up at her and we began to make our way towards the exit.
“What’s the plan for today then?” Karlie asked as she turned her head towards me.
“I haven’t really thought of anything, have you?” I questioned. Our security guards were waiting for us outside on the street, and we could see the paparazzi crowded outside of the large glass doors.
“Neither have I,” She admitted, opening the door for me. Cameras flashed and the ever familiar ‘click’ of the shutter button could be heard obnoxiously, but we had learned to ignore it ages ago, so it didn’t deter the conversation. “Maybe a bit of shopping? Then we could see a movie?” Karlie suggested, shrugging a shoulder toward me. I thought about Karlie’s idea for a second, but a better one had popped up in my head.
“Or,” I said, pausing for effect. “Do you remember a few months ago, when we first started dating and you told me that you were jealous of all the couples that got to do cute things in Central Park, because we hadn’t gone public yet?” I asked her. Karlie nodded her head with a smile and kept her eyes on me.
“Yeah, I do remember that.” She said quietly, her cheeks blushing.
“Well, we should do that! Let’s spend the day in Central Park, doing all of the couple things that couples are supposed to do.” I smiled triumphantly, knowing that Karlie would enjoy the idea.
“That’s a great idea!” She squealed, getting into our car. “It’s really sweet and thoughtful of you to think of that, Tay.” She squeezed my hand gently and pressed her lips to my cheek. I immediately felt heat rise to my face, and I couldn’t help but let out a small laugh.
