“Taylor, I love you. SO much.” Those were the only words I had managed to grasp. I couldn’t believe that she had actually wanted to take such a huge risk, all for me.

“I love you too Karls, and that’s why I’m doing this.” She smiled and her crystal blue eyes stared into mine. She pulled me in for a hug and I wrapped my arms around her neck.

“Come on, let’s go to bed,” She whispered in my ear. Taylor pulled away so that she was looking at me again.

“We have a crazy day ahead of us.”

I woke up the next morning with a smile on my face. Taylor’s arm was wrapped around my waist, and I placed my hand on top of hers. Today is the day. I thought. I knew both of our lives would change forever at 10:00 this morning. I glanced to my left and noticed the time read 11:23. So I guess it already started. Last night was the worst version of hell, but Taylor had managed to turn it into heaven, just by saying one sentence:

“As of 10 o’clock this morning, I will have officially come out of the closet, and most importantly, I will officially be dating you.” The memory played back in my head, and my smile widened. I rolled over and noticed that Taylor was still asleep, so I leaned in and planted small, quick kisses on her lips.

“Tay, baby. Its time to get up, we have a big day today.” I said softly. Her eyes fluttered open and fell on me. With a sleepy grin, she placed her hand on my face and said, “And I couldn’t be anymore excited.”

“You’re amazing, you know that?” I asked her. Her eyes lit up at my comment.

“Well, what can I say? I try.” She giggled as she gave me a quick peck on the lips.

“I know, and I’m so grateful for that,” I said honestly. I brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. I really was grateful that she told everyone about us; it was the most generous thing anyone had ever done for me. Taylor was so selfless and I couldn’t help but feel like I had forced her into this. Either way, it was too late to go back now, that ship had long sailed. “Why don’t we check the news?” I suggested.

We got out of bed and walked into my living room. I quickly glanced out my window and saw a large crowd of paparazzi in the streets, directly below my apartment. And so it begins. I thought. As we sat down on the couch and grabbed the TV remote, I felt a small lump rise in my throat. My heart started to pound. My thumb hovered over the power button, nervous for what we would see on the screen.

“Its okay Karls, I’m a little nervous too,” Taylor mumbled as she placed her hand on my thigh. Being ‘a little’ nervous underestimated what I felt; my stomach was in knots and I was seconds away from throwing up.

“Let’s just turn it on and see what they say.” Taylor proposed. I gave her a small smile and turned on the TV. The screen flickered on and showed The Today Show, which was probably the biggest news channel in New York.
