Karlie
Taylor and I both descended down the small steps of her private jet. I felt the humidity of the Barbadian heat radiate over my skin, and I already couldn’t wait to get a little bit of a tan.
“It’s so hot, I’m in love!” Taylor exclaimed as she stepped into the black SUV that was waiting for us.
“I know—we need to go swimming as soon as possible!” I agreed, sitting beside her.
After we finished eating last night, we had headed to my apartment so that I could pack a few bags. I had wanted to find the best outfits that I could find, and even with Taylor’s constant nagging and begging me to hurry up we didn’t make it to the airport until 3 AM. Fortunately, the flight from New York was nearly five hours long, so we were able to get some sleep on the plane. As I turned my head to look out the window I felt a tight pain in my neck; falling asleep on Taylor’s shoulder probably wasn’t the best idea. We sat in silence for a few moments, and I flipped my black Ray Bans over my eyes to help block out some of the sun.
“So I was thinking that we could stop at some of the shops in town before heading to where we’re staying. It’ll be fun—you never know what you might find!” Taylor suggested as she rested her hand on mine. I turned my head to look at her and nodded enthusiastically.
“Sounds great! Where are we staying, by the way?” I asked. It just hit me that I didn’t have a clue as to what we would be doing for the next few days. When Taylor gave me the plane tickets I was too excited to think of the details.
“You’ll have to wait until we get there!” Taylor exclaimed with a smirk. I couldn’t help but smile as I rolled my eyes and playfully hit her on the shoulder.
“Enough with all of these surprises! You’re killing me!” I groaned
“That’s the point. I’m trying to keep you on the edge of your seat. You know, keep you interested.” Taylor teased, tugging at the corner of my t-shirt.
“Trust me, I’m already interested.” I replied. She knew I hated surprises. I was the most impatient person in the world, and the wait was eating away at me.
“That’s fine, but I’m still not going to tell you!” She said. I sighed in defeat as I placed my hand on her knee. She had already gone above and beyond any expectations that I had for her, and now I just felt spoiled.
“Fine. I just want you to know that I really appreciate everything you’ve done. Yesterday was perfect, and now I can’t wait to relax and enjoy this vacation with you,” I said, just above a whisper. I flashed my eyes to meet hers and opened my mouth to speak once more. “It means the world to me that you’re trying so hard to make us work.” I added softly. Taylor’s lips stretched into a smile as she pressed her hand to my cheek.
“Of course I’m trying. I want this probably twice as much as you do.” She said. I felt her fingers trace up my cheekbone to twirl a piece of my hair between her fingers, then tuck it behind my ear. I couldn’t help but gently nuzzle my cheek against her palm as I turned my head to kiss her fingers. I bit my lip and looked back at Taylor through my eyelashes, there was no way that she wanted this more than I did.
