Looking at her dear grandson knowing that he is now on another whole different cultivation than the rest of the world, she must prepare him for the problems that life will throw at him.

Without sparing a second thought, Wei Ying fell to his knees, preparing to kowtow to his grandma/grandmaster/master. (Kowtowing is a sign of ultimate respect to teachers, masters, kings, emperors, etc)

Nodding her head in satisfaction, she picks Wei Ying up from the ground.

"As of today, you, Wei Wuxian, son of First disciple Cangse Sanren and Son-in-law Wei Changze, will be accepted as my grandson disciple. I will fill in the place of your mother who is unable to teach and guide you as your master. I will teach you all that I know and you must swear that everything you do will be for the great justice of the world and to never stray from your purpose in life. Do you agree?"

Wei Ying cups his two hands together, he couldn't help but reminisce the same vows he had made at the lantern festival with Lan Zhan while they were studying together, oh how he missed those days.

"I agree."

The second those words left his mouth, a jade pendant with black ribbon appeared before his waist, hanging proudly and beautifully.

"Popo, this is....?"

"This jade pendant is something that I give to all my disciples, it signifies that you are now my disciple and anywhere you go, you are seen as a disciple of the dignified Baoshan Sanren." Baoshan smiled, feeling nostalgic just like when she gave her daughter her very own jade pendant.

After completing the master/disciple ceremony, Wei Ying could not stop fiddling with his jade pendant. The first few hours of meeting his popo again, she had already given him all the things that every cultivator could ever dream of. Never once in his life did he imagine how his life would end up like this, he couldn't help but wonder how the rest of his family and friends are doing right now.

Reading her grandson's mind like an open book, she knew that he wanted to go back out there, back to those who are probably worried about him.

"A-Ying, you want to go back to Yunmeng?" Baoshan asks, her serious tone overtaking the moment.

"...Mm, my adoptive family and friends are probably looking for me, I was supposed to meet them down the mountain." Wei Ying responded.

Thinking for some time, she had slightly regretted that she made this rule,

"This is the one ultimate rule I have for all my disciples, but as my disciple, if you leave the mountain, you can never come back."

Wei Ying had an obvious change in his facial expression, he never thought such a problem would already occur.

"However......you are not my direct disciple, I am only your grandmaster filling in for your mother, and because she has no rules for her disciples, you may head down the mountain and come back." Baoshan smiled, she knew it was a good idea to take him in as his mother's disciple, letting him become her grandson disciple.

Absorbing the newfound loophole in this rule, Wei Ying was excited again. He wanted to prepare for his journey to go, but he then realized that he had literally nothing to pack.

Grandma is definitely a grandma when she spoils her grandchildren. Knowing that he would have to leave the mountain for a while, she prepared in advance some extra layers of clothes and food for several days. The most important present that she hopes to make up all the years, the biggest surprise.

"This is a black-jade flute. It was gifted to me from your GongGong (grandpa), it's meant to protect you and guard against negative energy. It's spiritually intelligent and just by putting in some spiritual energy, it will guide you."

Staring at this amazing flute, even though he never met his Yeye, just by looking at the flute, he knew his Yeye was an amazing man.

"Does this flute have a name?" Wei Ying looked back and forth from the flute to his Popo.

".....ChenQing"
