Y/n and Colby have been best friends for quite some time now. Both have a small crush on the other but won't say anything because they don't want to ruin their friendship. They get into the Christmas spirit before the Christmas party pizza night at Sam's and of course, Sam has mistletoe hanging around. Guess who gets caught under it.

"Merry Christmas bitch!" I shout as I walk into my best friend's apartment, my hands full of my present for tonight and some brownies I made for the party as well. I kick the door behind me shut and set my stuff down on the counter. Colby walks out from his bedroom into the living room.

"Well, someone's in the Christmas spirit," Colby says as he looks at my outfit. I had on some red leggings, my green ugly Christmas sweater, my Christmas light necklace, and a reindeer antler headband. I looked down at my clothes and laughed at myself.

"Yeah, I might have gotten a bit carried away, but it's Christmas. So shut up," I chuckle lightly and cross my arms over my chest.

"Why are we putting your tree up so late?" I ask Colby as I start to open the box that had the tree in it.

"I've been busy," He tells me, pulling out the bottom section of the tree and setting it down in the corner by the balcony door. We put all the pieces together and begin fluffing the branches of the tree. We plugged in the tree when we finished fluffing and watched it light up.

"Oh, I love it!" I say, getting excited to put the ornaments on it. We started at the bottom and worked our way up until we got to a point where Colby couldn't reach any higher.

"Do you have a ladder or step stool?" I ask him and he shakes his head. "You didn't think that far, did you?" I sigh as he shakes his head again. "Well, what are we gonna do? We can't leave the top part bare."

"How about you get on my shoulders and put the ornaments?" He asks me. My eyes widen.

"You will 100 percent drop me and I'm not trying to die before Christmas. I want to see my family next week, you know." I tell him, but his pretty blue eyes plead for me to do it anyway. I sigh before saying, "Fine." A smile spreads on his face and I climb onto his shoulders. I put my feet behind his back to steady myself and his hands hold my legs, keeping me secure.

"You better not drop me, Cole." I sternly say as I reach up and place another ornament on the tree.

"No promises." He laughs, which doesn't make me feel any better about how far off the ground I was. I roll my eyes and focus on putting the ornaments on the tree.

"Okay, hand me the star, please," I say sweetly and hold onto Colby's head as he bends down to get the star. He stands back up after getting it and reaches up to hand it to me. I grab it and stretch up to get to the very top of the tree. I almost make it, but Colby lets go of my legs, wiggles around, and gasps as if he's going to drop me.

"Colby, quit!" I say as I laugh and grab onto his hair to make sure I don't fall. "Now be still," I whisper as I focus and place the star on the tree.

"Okay, done!" I say excitedly. Colby steps back with me still on top of him and looks at the completed tree.

"I love it," He says as he looks up at me. I smile at him and nod in agreement.

"I love it too, but can you put me down now?" I ask and he laughs.

"No," He says before he starts running around his apartment with me on top of him.
