Luckily, Baekhyun isn't a cat and curiosity only made him pass out in Sehun's arms. He was now resting with his eyes closed in bed, not wanting the others to see that he woke up. You could say that he was a little scared. He doesn't want them to know that he was listening to Sehun's conversation but he needs a better excuse for why he was there, not being able to think about any at this moment.

"Do you think he heard anything?", Luhan asked Sehun in a whisper, standing close to the door, thinking that Luhan is still sleeping.

"I hope he didn't... He called me again", Sehun answered and continued his idea seconds later. "I told him I can't go, that you're still mourning after Ba-". They stopped the second Baekhyun opened his eyes and Luhan was the first to observe that, making a sign for Sehun to end his idea there.

Surprisingly for them, he didn't ask anything. He didn't ask what they were talking about now or why Sehun was so mad earlier. He didn't ask why Sehun lied about him being dead, he knew that they wouldn't answer because there are many other questions they never answered to him. Who is Park C. was one of them. When Baekhyun asked them for the first time, they could only look at him with panic in their eyes then hurried to Luhan who dropped a plate on the floor, hurting his foot. Baekhyun might be innocent and maybe his brain is not his best friend right now but he's not stupid. He saw how uncomfortable the men become when he's asking things so he decides to act like he hears and sees nothing sometimes, not wanting to get them mad.

A few hours later, the doorbell started to ring, an excited Baekhyun running towards the door like a happy puppy, only the wagging tail missing. It was around 7 PM when his old friends decided to show up as a group behind the door, ready for Baekhyun's birthday party. He couldn't hide how stressed he was, even if all he wanted was to have fun. What if he lost the connection he had with them? What if he won't remember their names or anything Luhan told him about them in the last few days. He doesn't want them to think that he doesn't care about them anymore. Luhan, as he'd be reading his thoughts, came behind him to pat his shoulder, whispering into his ear that everything will be fine and he will have fun. "I promise", he said in the end before placing Baekhyun's hand on the doorknob. Baekhyun smiled again, a little wider and finally opened the door, greeting the group behind it. Everyone showed up, wishing him a happy birthday and sharing a tight hug with him like they haven't seen each other in years or even more.

Finally, a few minutes after they found themselves in the living room, on the floor or on the couches, with some snacks or drinks in their hands, talking casually about old times. Time passed and Baekhyun felt like nothing changed between them or, that he doesn't feel like a stranger when he is with them. He could remember short parts of some parties or moments they spent together but nothing was too clear for him yet. But they didn't care about that. They were just happy to have him back, so full of life.

Close to midnight, the men were still there, talking about their jobs since Baekhyun confessed that he doesn't exactly know what they are doing. This way, he finds out about Kyungsoo's restaurant and Jongin's dance school. The oldest between them, Xiumin, was a doctor while Chen was a music teacher at an art school but also a singer. Baekhyun could only gasp after hearing his friend's high notes, wondering why he is here, on the couch, instead of a big stage in front of millions of people. "My pup is more important than anything in this world", he could only say, messing his pink looks as they chuckle. In the end, Junmyeon was the last one to talk about his job. Judging by the expensive polo shirt he had on and the designer's pants, Baekhyun thought that he must be a rich person and he was right. Junmyeon was the director of a big company in Seoul, Baekhyun already forgetting the details. In the end, he realized how different his friends are, working in different environments but getting along so well like they are one. He was amazed and he couldn't stop smiling as he looked at them, keep laughing at their jokes.

Everyone was having fun, sharing drinks and snacks or simple stories about how their lives are lately. The only person that couldn't enjoy was Sehun, who's phone kept lighting inside his pocket, sign that someone was calling him again and again. He managed to decline some of the phone calls until Luhan turned his head to whisper something in his ear. Sehun left the couch the next moment, walking towards the kitchen with the phone in his hand, sign that he decided to call back the person who kept looking for him for a few good hours. Baekhyun could see how everyone's eyes were moving after the tall man but then they continued their talk like nothing would have happened.

Soon, Baekhyun finished the dose of coke he had and decided to stand up and go to the kitchen to take another one, along with some beers for the others. He totally forgot about Sehun's call, thinking that he might be smoking or something so he didn't hold back before opening his mouth to scream.

"Sehuuun, we need more beers!", everyone could hear before turning their heads towards the kitchen, freezing once they've meet Sehun's shocked face, holding the phone close to his ear, sign that he was still talking to the other one.

No one said a thing for a few good moments, concentrating on the silence that came from the other line. In the end, a deep voice started to call Sehun's name from the device.

"Sehun...that was Baekhyun?" was the only thing Baekhyun heard.

They are fucked up.
