The Bird Scene Part 3

The next morning I was able to drive my newly painted motorcycle after having it in the shop for the past 6 months. As I pulled into the school parking lot I got a lot of stares from other students. There weren't too many students that drove chopper motorcycles to school. I walked into school to see Tori working on her locker and all I could see was a bright pink stripe across it. I walked up to her and just stared at the sad excuse for a locker until she finally noticed me.

"Oh, hey Blake. How's it going?"

I couldn't stop staring at the locker.

"Why?"

She seemed to understand what I was refering to as my eyes were still glued to that pink stripe.

"Well I used to have a white board so that anyone can draw on it, but Jade..."

"I got it."

"What did you do for yours?"

I started walking towards my locker, not really caring if she followed or not as I still needed to get my books. We stopped in front of my locker, which was rather simple compared to some other student's as it was just a portrait on the door.

"Wow that's so cool...who is it?"

I couldn't help but be even more disappointed with this girl then I already am and that's saying something.

"May God help you."

I got a text from Jade saying she has coffee waiting for me and to be honest Tori was starting to bore me. I quickly grabbed my books and left to go find Jade.

I was already in my seat drinking the coffee that Jade bought me when Beck walked into Sikowitz's class. He asked if Tori was ready for her second attempt at the bird scene.

"Oh I'm way past ready. Sikowitz wants the bird scene, I'm going to give him the bird scene. I got props, I got a backdrop and just to kiss up a little, I even got Sikowitz two large coconuts."

"Those are some good ones."

I was already bored with the conversation when I got a text from my Dad that he would be home tomorrow night and that he won the case. Once everyone was seated, Sikowitz had Tori redo the bird scene which she failed once again. I got another text from my Dad saying that Mom is asking for me to see her again. I quickly forwarded the text to Beck and Jade, grabbed my bag and took off to the dance hall for the next couple of hours. I don't have time for that woman.

For the past couple of ballet classes, the only entertaining part was watching Andre and Robbie nail themselves in the nutsacks in front of the only other girl in the class, Tiana. Today was another day in Sikowitz's class and another try at the bird scene by Tori. I got to give her props, she has worked very hard at passing Hollywood Arts' biggest test. Before class officially began, Beck and Jade walked up to me and Jade was the first to break my stupor.

"Hey. I'm sleeping over at your house tonight and we're watching "The Scissoring". You're going to pick up dinner for us and your Dad. Got it?"

I couldn't help but smile at two of the most important people in my life. Jade may be mean and cold, but I couldn't ask for a better best friend. Same with Beck.

"Got it."

As class began and Tori began her third attempt at the bird scene, I couldn't help but think how lucky I am to have the life I have despite the many years of misery it's had. I couldn't wait for my movie night with Jade and for my Dad to be home again.
