Chapter 5: Arrival

We arrived safely at the port of Terrax. Just as what I've heard, Terrax is literally something else. I don't see any trees at all, not even one. Masyado ring maraming tao at ang daming basura sa paligid. Ano bang pinagagawa ng mga tao dito? Simpling recycle lang, hindi ba kaya?

"Welcome to the most polluted country," birong sabi ni Leo at napatawa ako ng kaunti. I saw couple of cars not far away from us at doon sila papunta kaya sumunod lang ako. While I was walking, I saw a glimpse of an isolated island which is kind of far from here. I also saw some parts of Terrax that don't look polluted at all but what stood up the most was the part where I saw barriers and a dead empty space.

"That's Schoolomance, our school" Evie said. I knew that the school that I'll be going is extraordinary, but I never thought that it'll be a whole island. I'm sure na completo na lahat ng kailangan ng mga studyante doon. 

"So do we need to ride another ship?" I asked.

"No, we'll travel in land. Water creatures are lurking around those waters, and you don't want to mess with them," Evie explained. "You'll know what I mean when we get there," she added at tumango lang ako. Lahat ba ng kailangan kong malaman ay nandoon? Di ba pwedeng dito na lang sasabihin?

"You have seen megalodon right? There's more of them," biglang singit ni Leo sabay ngiti. Well, that is not something I should be smiling for.

Habang papalapit kami na maga nakaparada na sasakyan, napansin ko na nagsialisan na ang iba marahil dahil hindi iyon sa amin at tanging dalawa na lang ang natira.They're all plain black just like the ship. The fact that its color is matte black indicates that this car is something else, not to mention about the magic that I'm feeling around it. Sumakay si Evie at Leo sa naunang sasakyan at agad akong napatigil kasi hindi ako alam kung saan ako sasakay. Nang binuksan kasi ni Evie yung sasakyan, dalawa lang ang pwedeng makakaupo doon- it seemed like it was customized.

"Each car is good for two people only," Cairo explained as he pressed something na galing sa bulsa niya, and the second car's door opened wide. "Sakay na," utos niya at sumakay siya sa driver's seat. Sumakay na rin ako and the door closed. Kinuha ko ang seatbelt at sinuot ito. He started the engine at pinatakbo na niya ang sasakyan. If I'm correct about the cars being customized, then sino ba dapat ang kasama niya dito? Napatingin ako sa kaniya and he was just watching straight ahead while driving the car.

"What's wrong with your right eye?" bigla niyang tanong kaya napaiwas ako ng tingin. now that we're alone, nakalimutan ko na may dapat pa pala kaming pag-uusapan.

"Oh... uhh.. I got injured a few years ago and I chose to hide it anyway. It's part of my insecurities but I consider this as a battle scar," I explained my lies.

"Evie can heal that, just so you know," he replied.

"I know, she offered but I declined," I replied back.

Hindi siya umimik and hinintay na magsalita pa siya. I don't feel awkward when I'm with him, but my anxiety gets higher if I'm with him. He is unpredictable in regards with questions, attacks, and even presence- not to mention his messed up emotions. Tumingin na lang ako sa labas at napansin ko na medyo malinis na dito. The people here are also presentable of some sort. They wore formal clothes even on streets and they are walking slowly too as if they were following some kind of standards.

"If you want to ask why this place look different, it's because the port is located in the lower ranked community area and what you are looking at right now, is a place for people who had average to high ranks," he explained.

"Isn't that discrimination?" I asked.

"It's how the world works, Vermillion and we can't change that," he replied. We can change it if we'd want to.
