Chapter 29: That Rainy Day and Beyond the Lies

"She's awake!" I heard Evie shouted the moment I opened my eyes. Napabangon kaagad ako at napatingin ako sa paligid. Paano ako napunta dito?  Nandito na ulit ako sa tree house namin at katabi ko si Cairo na nakaupo sa kabilang higaan. He was holding a cup with a hot tea and was holding his head. He glanced at me, and he looked really confused as well. 

"Oh gosh, Vermillion! What the hell happened to you both?! Buti na lang nakita kayo ni Kel na nakahandusay sa gilid ng lake," Leo said. Nakahandusay???? BUT WE WERE BOTH NAKED.

"Hindi ko alam kung anong nangyari pero basang-basa kayong dalawa. Hindi ko rin alam kung dahil ba iyon sa ulan o naligo ba kayo sa lake," Kel said. 

"Baka sa ulan, hindi naman sila nakahubad, di ba?" Evie asked at napatingin kami pareho ni Cairo sa kanilang tatlo.

"Oo, may suot naman sila," Kel responded at agad kaming nagtinginan ni Cairo. We were naked. We were on that lake. I was sure that we both sank down. How did that happen?

"Buti nga nagising kaagad sila. Kahapon pa naman sila tulog tapos akala ko napano na," Evie said.

What happened that rainy day?

They continued talking while we both stayed silent. Kahit anong gawin ko, wala talaga akong naalala kahapon. Evie gave me a cup of hot tea as well at kinuha ko iyon. I stared at my reflection at the hot tea at wala namang nagbago sakin. Humigop ako ng konti at napatingin ako kay Cairo na pinagmamasdan ang bukas na bintana. He glanced at me, and I know that we both have the same thing in mind. We have to go back there. 

"And by the way," biglang sabi ni Kel kaya napatingin kami pareho sa kaniya. "The orbs vanished and as well as the black poison that began to spread at the sea," he added. Well, I did saw how the orbs cracked open and they just... kind of went to us before I lost consciousness.

"Are they finally free?" Leo asked.

"I am not sure about that, but I think they finally found their vessel," Kel responded at bigla akong kinabahan. Nagtinginan ulit kami ni Cairo and he was clueless since I was the only one who saw it happened.

"Can we talk privately?" biglang tanong ni Cairo at agad namang tumango sina Evie at pilit na nilabas sina Leo at Kel. She then closed the door at tuloyan na nga silang nakalabas. Cairo stood up at lumapit siya sakin. He sat on my bed, and he stared at me.

"If you are going to ask me what happened, I don't know. All I remembered was how the orbs cracked open. Believe me or not, I saw Horus and Ishara. They even turned into orbs again and they charged towards us as I held your body since you were unconscious. After that, the last thing I knew was us, sinking together under the lake and that's it," I explained.

"Horus and Ishara?" he asked and I nodded. "Are you sure?" he asked, and I nodded again.

"I promise, Cairo. Sila yung nakita ko and they went towards us. Did we just become their vessel?" I asked and he took at deep breath at umiwas siya ng tingin sakin.

"I don't know," sagot niya. "I had this vivid dream before I woke up, but I wasn't sure if-" he paused at napatingin ulit siya sakin. "Well, that dream might really happened, but I can't remember anything," he continued.

"A dream?" sagot ko.

"Yeah," he replied at napatingin siya sa hawak niyang hot tea. "May nararamdaman ka ba ngayon? Like do you feel tired or any pain?" he asked and I raised one of my brows. That question is so random.

"Ha? Well, okay naman. Although I'm feeling some cramps pero it's not that serious. Bakit mo natanong?" he asked at napahinga siya ng malalim.

"Hindi rin ako sure kung paano ko sasabihin sayo ito pero-" he paused, and he had no signs of continuing what he said. Napatingin ako sa tea na hawak ko at naisipan kong humigop ng konti. "I don't really know if this really happened, but it felt like it did. In my dream, we both..." he paused again at tinititigan ko lang siya habang hinihigop ang tea at hinintay siyang magsalita. "Okay, let me get this straight. We had sex," he continued at hindi ko napigilan at naibuga ko sa kaniya ang hinihigop kong tea. Ano? Bakit naman hahantung sa ganon? That's weird!
