The proposal literally surprised me. I didn't know what to do, or what to answer kaya buti nalang biglang pumasok ang Kapitan ng barko kaya umalis ako para makapag-usap sila. Sa ngayon ay nakatitig lang ako sa dagat habang nakasandal sa ding-ding na malapit sa cabin ng kapitan.
"The enemies escaped," rinig kong sabi ng Kapitan kaya bigla akong nataohan. I opened the door slightly and peeked at them only to find them both talking seriously. "There are no casualties sa other teams ng school pero maraming nawala na pasahero. The government officials are currently on a meeting kung paano maiiwasan ang mga pangyayaring ganito," he added.
"Alam ba nilang ang sarili nilang prinsipe ang traydor?" Cairo asked and the captain nodded.
"He's blacklisted as of the moment," the captain replied.
"Walang silbi iyan, susugod at susugod pa rin siya kasama ang mga kalaban. Tell them to enhance their defenses 24/7. They are on the move lalo na't may hawak kaming isang Grimoire," Cairo replied back and the captain nodded.
Cairo's soft emotions towards me instantly vanished as he began to strategize by using a pen beside him and a map. I smiled lightly at umalis ako. I still have time to think about the proposal, but I don't have enough time to gather this Grimoires. Naglakad ako papunta sa harapan ng barko at tanaw ko na rito bridge na kung saan kami na-ambush sa train.
The train was still there and so are the other teams. I enhanced my vision and I saw them cleaning the mess and picking up debris. May iba rin na kinuha ang mga naipit na bangkay sa loob. I noticed that the direction of our ship was towards the land which was quite closer to the bridge kaya hindi ko napigilang napatingin sa paligid. Supposedly papunta kami sa isang secretong station na minsan lang dinadaanan pero napigilan kami ng mga kalaban.
I squinted my eyes because I saw something from the mountains that surrounded the land that we are about to go. I tilted my head and stared at it for a minute only to realize that the trees were oddly stained by something. Napatingin ako sa ibabang bahagi ng bundok at doon ko na nakita ang isang waiting shed na kung saan titigil sana ang train. The shed was old and was swallowed by nature.
Just by looking at it, hindi ako mapakali. There is definitely something dangerous in there and I do not mean any of Heka's cult, but I mean something else. Pwede naman kami nilang atakehin sa bundok na iyan habang paakyat kami o habang dadaan kami diyan pero bakit doon pa sa train? Are they avoiding something or what?
"Vermillion!" Kel suddenly called kaya napalingon ako. Tumayo siya sa tabi ko at napatitig sa mga mata ko. I quickly blinked twice para mawala ang mahikang ginamit ko para makakita ng malayo.
"Anong tinitingnan mo diyan? Doon ba tayo pupunta?" tanong niya at tumango ako. He stared at the mountains, and he tilted his head. See? Even him. He is sensing something.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing, it's just-" he paused, and he tilted his head to the opposite direction. "I grew up in an area where trees are abundant so I can definitely sense when something is not right. As for those trees, parang-" he paused again. "Ewan ko ba pero parang iba eh," he added again.
The ship suddenly stopped at nagtinginan kaming dalawa. Medyo malayo pa kami sa pupuntahan namin pero bigla na lang tumigil. Lumabas si Cairo sa cabin at napatingin siya sa aming dalawa. He gave me a soft smile at naglakad siya palayo, probably para hanapin sina Leo at Evie.
"Ano yun?" Kel asked at napatingin ako sa kaniya.
"Ang alin?" tanong ko at napatingin ako sa paligid.
