Haileys POV

Its 5pm Dahlia and are eating tea when my phone rings. " Upton. " I answer. " HAILEY ITS HALSTEAD..HES BEEN SHOT AND IN A BAD STATE. WERE AT MED GET HERE NOW! " Ruzak shouts over the phone. I look at Dhalia in shock " Where on our way now! " I reply hanging up. " Dhalia we gotta go to the hospital now! " I say grabbing Dhalia and hurtling down the stairs to the car.

What seems like a life time later, Dhalia and I run into med where the whole team is waiting. " How is he? " I ask Ruzak catching my breath and totally out my mind with worry. " We dont know. Atwater said he was in bad shape and lost a lot of blood even before he got there. The doctor came out a minute ago saying hes in surgery and the kids quick thinking gave the surgeons some time. " Ruzak explains.

" Hailey what's wrong with Jay? " Dhalia asks as we sit down. " Jay's been badly hurt but doctors are taking very good care of him. " I reply trying not to cry. " Hey Dhalia, remember me from the other day? " Kim asks Dhalia kneeling down infront of her. " Yes your Kim. " Dhalia replies hugging into me. " Let's go get some icecream from the canteen hey? " Kim says offering her hand out for Dhalia to take. " Okay. " Dhalia says taking Kims hand. I mouth Thankyou as they walk off.

45 minutes later as kim and Dhalia return from the canteen as Will Halstead walks into the waiting room. " How is he? " Voight asks as we all jump up. " Jay lost alot of blood but hes out of surgery and stable. You can thank the kids for there quick thinking the surgeons said. " Will explains. Everyone breathes a sigh of relief " Can I go see him? " I ask " Yes but hes still asleep. " Will smiles leading me to Jay's room

I walk into Jay's room and just start crying. I pull a chair upto the side of Jay's bed hold his hand. " Jay please wake up Dhalia and I need...love you. " I beg still crying my eyes out. A couple of minutes later Voight comes in " Hailey, Dahlia wants to see Jay. " I nodd " Can you explain what she will see though please, just so she doesn't get a massive shock. " I ask pulling myself together. " sure. " Voight replies walking off.

A few minutes later Kim walks in to the room, hand-in-hand with Dhalia. " hey. " kim says giving a sympathetic look. " Hey. " I reply walking over to pick Dhalia up. " Jay? " Dhalia asks, her eyes starting to fill up. " I leave yous to it. " Kim says walking off. " remember what Voight and I said. Jays poorly but hes getting better okay. " I say hugging Dhalia tightly. " Go say hi to him. He can still hear and hearing you will make him really happy. " I say putting Dhalia down. " Okay. " she says hesitantly walking over to sit next to Jay.

" Jay please wake up. I miss you, I want to play with my new frozen toys with you. You can be Olaf since hes your favourite! " Dahlia says in a quite voice.
" Okay let's leave Jay to rest. " I say walking over to Dhalia. " Bye Jay. " Dahlia says getting off the chair.

We walk back out to the ED were everyone swarms round us asking how he looks. " Ye hes all wired up to monitors but breathing on his own. " I say giving Antonio a hug. " Hailey I'm tired. " Dhalia says yawning. " I know you are sweetie it's been an odd day. " I say picking her up. " Antonio can you take Dhalia for a sec whilst I speak to kim? " I ask looking at Antonio. " Sure thing, come give uncle Antonio a hug. " Antonio smiles taking Dhalia out my arms.

" Hey Kim, I know it's a big ask but.." before I finish Kim interrupts. " Take Dhalia for the night? Of course. " kim says already knowing what I was going to ask. " Thankyou so much! " I reply giving kim a hug.

Kim and I walk over to Antonio who is holding a sleeping Dhalia. " Dhalia wake up." Antonio says softly. " Heyy munchkin your going to have a sleep over with aunty Kim tonight okay. " I say taking Dhalia off Antonio's lap. " Mmhmm " Dhalia replies falling back asleep. " Dont worry about clothes either I still have some of Sierras old pyjamas. " Kim says taking Dhalia off me. " Okay thanks. " I smile.

Before to long, Kim and Ruzak are heading off followed by the rest of the team not far behind.
