part 23

Jay's POV

" So pick a pile and pass me all the files that have a blue tag. " I say to Dhalia pointing to the table with four piles of case files. " Okay. " Dhalia smiles. " Are you and mommy boyfriend and girlfriend? " Dhalia randomly asks passing me a file. " Dhalia me and your mommy are just very good friends. " I say laughing at a four year old coming out with something like that. " I heard mommy the other morning saying she wish you would ask her out. " Dhalia smiles. " What? " I question giving giving a confused look. " You should, shes happier when your around. " Dhalia says with the highest grin on her face. " You are four right? " I ask laughing. " Yep! " Dhalia replies rummaging through files. Watching Dhalia rummaging through the files, I realise the more time I've spent with Hailey, more I realise how much I'm in love her. Especially playing the mum roll.

Haileys POV

" Go home for the night, theres nothing left here to do! " Voight shouts from his office. We all get up and go our separate ways; most of the team going for the stairs. " Night Sarg " I smile walking past his office to the stairs leading to the tech room. " Night Hailey " Voight smiles back.

" Alright Dhalia, it's time to go home. " I say walking over to see what Jay and Dhalia are doing. " Okay, night Jay. " Dhalia says grabbing hold of my hand. " Night Dhalia, night Hailey. " Jay waves. " Night Jay. " I wave back.

On the way home I treat Dhalia to a drive through McDonald's after being amazing the last few days. When we get home Dhalia has a shower and I put the McDonald's into the oven to keep warm.

" Alright, that's warm enough get in. " I smile lifting Dhalia over the abnormally tall bathtub side. " Thanks mummy. " dhalia says starting to wet her hair. " No worries. I'm going to get into my pyjamas, just shout when your ready to get out. " I say walking out the bathroom.

I finish getting my pyjamas on and get the food out the oven and onto plates, knowing Dhalia wont be to much longer. " MOMMY I NEED HELP GETTING OUT! " dhalia shouts from the bathroom. " IM COMING TWO SECONDS! " I shout running into the bathroom. " Alrighty there you are. " I say putting Dhalia on the floor and handing her her onesie. " Thankyou. " Dhalia says drying herself off. " come through when your dressed, your burger is on the table ready. " I say walking back out to the dining area.

" mommy you like Jay and Jay likes you. I heard you the other day wishing he would ask you out, so why dont you? " Dahlia asks taking a bit out her burger. I choke on my water after hearing what Dhalia just said. " Dahlia Jay and I are just very good friends okay. Eat your burger its almost your bedtime. " I reply shocked. " That's what Jay said. " Dhalia mutters under her breath before taking a bite of her burger. I look at her in amazement before starting taking a bit of my own burger.
