Part 50

General POV

Hailey is now six months pregnant, her  and Jay are waiting in the waiting room ready to go in for the six month check up. " Do you want to find out the sex? " Jay asks. They never really talked about finding out about the babies gender since they've been to wrapped up in wedding planning, work and raising a five year old. " Ye, I do. What about you? " Hailey asks " Ye, I do too. I hope it's a little girl, another mini you running around the apartment. " Jay smiles, looking deeply into Haileys eyes " What? " Hailey asks pulling her head back. " You look even sexier when your pregnant " Jay smirks. Hailey doesnt have time to respond before Haileys OBGYN, Jill, calls there name.

" You know the drill. " Jill says prepping the sonogram and gell. " Yup " Hailey smiles getting onto the bed, taking Jay's hand into hers. " Your baby is still very healthy. Do you have any concerns about the movement or anything since last time we seen each other? " Jill asks " No, little baby Halsteads been great unless food is around. " Hailey laughs " Completely normal. Do you want to know the gender? " Jill asks fiddling with the screen " Yes please. " Jay grins like a kid. The room falls silent whilst Jill looks on the screen to see what the gender is. " Congratulations, you have a healthy baby girl. " Jill smiles and tears start running down Hailey and Jay's face. " I'll be back in a minute, just going to get the picture " Jill says walking out the door.

Haileys POV

" Were having a baby girl Jay " I cry looking into Jay's also teary eyes " I cant wait. " Jay smiles, kissing Hailey on the forehead. " How shall we tell everyone? " Jay asks " We should get Dhalia to write one of her funny songs. But this time about a sister relationship. " I say, knowing everyone loves Dhalias songs. " That's a great idea " Jay smiles as Jill walks back in. " Here you go. Any problems feel free to call " Jill says handing the baby scan over " Thanks. " Jay nodds as we walk.

" Dhalia! " I shout, nodding my head signalling for her to come over. " Mommy, why did you have to leave me with Platt behind the desk? " Dhalia asks annoyed " She was the one that wouldn't have to run at any minute " I reply " Why? " I chuckle " Wedding this, wedding that, bla, bla, bla " Dhalia moans pulling funny faces " Your getting cheeky in your old age " Jay says holding the gate open for Dhalia and I " Daddy, I'm not old and I learnt off the best " Dhalia shakes her head then looking straight to Jay, implying she learned it from him. " Adam taught you more than I did " Jay says, more than happily to pass the blame on.

Jay's POV

" Hey guys, hows the baby doing? " Kim asks coming out the break room " Great, apart from still hating food " Hailey says shielding her stomach with her arm. " Can we know the gender? " Olinsky asks, appearing out of nowhere with a banana " Not yet, we will tell you though. Dhalia come with me. " I say taking Dhalias into the break room to tell her the plan. " What do you want? " Dhalia asks sitting down " A stop with the attitude, B we need your help telling everyone that your getting a little sister. " Hailey smiles handing Dhalia a juice. " I'm getting a sister?! " Dhalia shouts excitedly " Yes, can you write one of your songs? But this time about having a sisterly relationship. Mommy will help you. " I say as Dhalia jumps up to give Hailey and I hug. " Yes, yes, yes, yes a million yes'! " Dahlia shrieks.

" Can she have a pink glittery room, with fairy lights and my little pony? " Dahlia rambles excitedly, still obsessed over my little pony and Dora " I think were going to go with something a little calmer Dhalia. " Hailey says bracing her back. " You Alright? " I ask concerned " Ye dont worry, just the usual pregnancy back ache " Hailey replies. " Mommy can we write it now please? " Dhalia asks already singing. " Of course. " Hailey replies.

I walk back out into the break room, leaving Dhalia and Hailey to get on with the song. " Tomorrow night your all coming over after work! " I shout over impatient Ruzak hitting the printer. " Why? " Atwater asks rolling his eyes at Ruzak " You guys said you wanted to know the gender so were going to tell you. " I say going over to help Ruzak with the printer. " Definalty then " Antionio chirps. " What? I've been trying to get this to work the last fifteen minutes and you do it in a couple of seconds! " Adam snaps confused and frustrated and how easily I got it to work. " Thankyou Jay. Your welcome Ruzak " I add sarcastically before the whole room starts laughing.

Luckily today we had no case so we were just going through old cases or catching up on paper work. Being a detective is great along as your not spending the day behind a desk. " Jay, Whens Haileys last dress fitting? " Kim asks like I'm supposed to know the answer " AbsOLutLey no idea " I reply making it clear I really dont have a scooby. " Oh, never mind then " kim says shaking her head " What? " I ask wanting to know what kim was thinking " nothing, seriously, not important " Kim's says.

About twenty minutes, later the break room door slams open and Hailey comes out running/ waddling down the middle of the desk towards the bathrooms. " My fault, I got an orange out the fruit bowl at took it near her " Dahlia walking out looking guilty " Its not your fault, don't worry. " I say going over to give Dhalia a hug. " Can I have a pony ride? " Dhalia asks with a cheeky grin " Ask your Uncle Adam " I say, pointing towards Ruzak who popped his head up from behind his computer like a meer kat. " But..." Adam starts to protest but stops as soon as the whole team give him the ' your not really going to say no to that adorable face ' look. " Fine " Ruzak moans getting down on all fours. " Yeeey! " Dhalia cheers running over and getting onto Ruzaks back. Everyone gets there phones out to film the hilarious scene taking place infront of us.
