part 47

General POV

" Morning " Jay smiles to Hailey, who looks like shes been awake for a while. " Morning " Hailey smiles fiddling with Dhalias long blond hair. " How are you feeling? " Jay asks but before he can reply Hailey jumps out of bed and makes a bee- line for the bathroom. " I'll take that as your answer " Jay mumbles before running after her.

Haileys POV

I'm over joyed at being pregnant again, but this morning sickness is killing me so far. Jay comes into the bathroom and holds my hair back for me. " Thanks Jay. " I half smile standing up. " Its okay. " He replies pulling me in for a hug. " We should go get Dhalias presents set out on the table whislt shes still asleep. " I say pulling back from Jay's arms. 

" What time are they all coming? " Jay asks passing a bag over " Eleven, my mum and brother are coming at half ten though. I owe them an explanation and some one-on-one time with Dhalia at the least. I mean, they never done anything wrong, they suffered just as much as I did. " I explain shaking the memories from my mind. " That's a nice thing to do Hails. You dont owe them anything though " Jay says putting the biggest present down on the table " I do but nows not the time to talk about it. " I smile desperately wanting to change the subject. " Since were done I'll go make some breakfast. Do you want anything Hails? " Jay asks walking to the kitchen area " Just some toast, nothing to much. " I reply going to wake Dhalia.

" Morning birthday girl " Dhalia starts to sture but as soon as she processed what I said properly she jumped up out of bed like a kangaroo. " Its my birthday, it's my birthday wHoooo! " She sings as she runs straight past me into the living area.

Jay's POV

" Morning Dhalia " I smile, passing her some toast. " morning Daddy " She replies tucking in to her toast. " Hey, Hailey, isnt it someones birthday today? " I ask pretending to be confused " I think so, I don't know whos though! " Hailey says shrugging her shoulder as she makes her way towards us. " Its mine silly! " Dhalia laughs rolling her eyes " Oh ye, I remember now. Your fifty, right? " I ask really seriously " No, I'm five " Dhalia sighs rolling her eyes and holding five fingers up. " Honestly Daddy " Dahlia shakes her head at me in disper. " Happy birthday Lia! " Hailey and I say in unison going to give Dhalia a group hug. " You can open your presents when the guys get here though okay. " Hailey says giving Dhalia a high five.

General POV

Dhalia, Hailey and Jay are finishing off the last piece and pieces for Dhalias birthday when the door knocks. " COME IN! " hailey shouts to whoever's at the door " Hi Hailey " Zack says walking in with there mum just behind- her hands full of bags. " Hi Zack " Hailey smiles running over to help her mum out. " Jay, this is Zack- my oldest brother. Zack this is Jay, my fiance. " Hailey say introducing Jay and Zack. " Hey " they both say shaking hands " Ah Jay, this is my mum Jane. " Hailey says  pointing between the two of them. " Hi " They both exchange smiles and hand shakes.

Haileys POV

" Mommy is the balloon okay here? " Dhalia asks from the otherside of the living area " Looks great Lia. Come over here, I want you to meet some people. " I say waving my hand for her to come over. " Lai, this is grandma and Uncle Zack. They are my mum and Brother. " I say picking an all of a sudden shy Dhalia up. " Hi Dhalia, nice to meet you. Happy birthday. " My mum smiles not sure quite sure what to do. " Hi " Dhalia says digging her head into the crook of my neck. " come on, let's go get you into your dress. " Jay says taking Dhalia off me.

The three of us go on sit down in silence before Zak breaks the awkward silence. " How come you never told us about Dhalia? " Zack asks the dreaded question " Umm, I didnt tell anyone about her. My old boss and co-workers new but I gave her up for adoption as soon as she was born. " I explain feeling my mums death glare. " How come she is here then? " my mum asks unimpressed and confused " I was undercover back when I was on robbery homocide, the guy I was with got rough and...." I say tearing up " Anyway a few months ago Jay and I were working a case and her adopted mum was the suspect. Shes lived with me ever since. " I explain wiping my tears away. My mum and Zack just stare having no idea what to say or do." I'm so sorry Hailey. " My brother says coming over to give me a hug. " So Jay isnt Dhalias dad? " my mum asks horrified at what I've just told her. " Jay is her dad, mum. " I glare. I knew my mum would be disappointed and unimpressed but it still hurt that she was like this.

Jay's POV

" Daddy, I dont like that lady. " Dahlia says as I finish platting her hair. " Just be nice okay. You dont have to be best friends or anything. " I say tying the bobble to the end of her hair. " Okay. " Dhalia says checking her platts out. " Thanks daddy, there soooo nice! " Dhalia smiles giving me a hug. I go to reply when theres a knock at the door " Yeeeey, there here! " Dhalia cheers jumping up and running off.
