Jason's POV

I sat against the door spinning an imperial gold dagger in my hand thinking. Thinking how easy it'd be to drop it. Thinking how long its been since I've seen her 3 months, 6 weeks, 9 days, 12 hours, 15 minutes, and 18 seconds but who's counting. How long they've been out and how everyone slowly retreated to their rooms except me, Luke, and Percy. They regained a pulse after a few days and could breathe but they haven't awoken yet. Hope is such a fragile thing so easy to shatter and all the pieces of mine have floated away. Then came the sound of a guitar from the other side of the door then singing "It's gone, gone, baby, it's all gone. There is no one on the corner and there's no one at home.It was cool cool, it was just all cool. Now it's over for me and it's over for you. Well it's gone, gone, baby, it's all gone

There is no one on the corner and there's no one at home. Well it was cool cool, it was just all cool

Now it's over for me and it's over for you." Tala at least I know she's alive. Who's gonna bring her food and keep her that way? Who? Me that's who I stood and threw the dagger to the ground I made her lunch and stuck it under the door. For the first time in three months it came back empty. I smiled. There is still hope.

Tala's POV

A plate came under the door shortly after I stopped singing and I smiled. Mission accomplished. I grabbed the plate and thought if he's got hope I've got hope. I ate the food and cleaned up a bit. I was still dreadfully skinny and scarred but better. Hope will survive. You know what I'm done hiding. I won't get better without help. Family that is what I really need not isolation. So I got dressed and opened the door. In the floorboards I noticed the dagger stuck. He really had thought about it. I started to cry and He walked around the corner. "Tala...?" He whispered his voice shaking. I looked up and he saw the tears "why are you crying?" I pointed to the knife "Cause this is what I led you to." I looked down again and the next thing I know I was being swung around and in his arms. When I stopped spinning he just kept holding and I buried myself deeper as he whispered "it doesn't matter. I have you now. That's all I need. Love, family, and hope. That's it." Then he started humming. I recognized the song and started to sing.

Waking up at the start of the end of the world,
But it's feeling just like every other morning before,
Now I wonder what my life is going to mean if it's gone,
The cars are moving like a half a mile an hour
And I started staring at the passengers who're waving goodbye
Can you tell me what was ever really special about me all this time?

I believe the world is burning to the ground
Oh well I guess we're gonna find out
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come
Well I believe it all is coming to an end
Oh well, I guess, we're gonna pretend,
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come

I think it turned ten o'clock but I don't really know
And I can't remember caring for an hour or so
Started crying and I couldn't stop myself
I started running but there's no where to run to
I sat down on the street took a look at myself
Said where you going man you know the world is headed for hell
Say your goodbyes if you've got someone you can say goodbye to

I believe the world is burning to the ground
Oh well I guess we're gonna find out
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come

Well I, believe, it all, is coming to an end
Oh well, I guess, we're gonna pretend,
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come

It's gone, gone, baby, it's all gone
There is no one on the corner and there's no one at home
It was cool cool, it was just all cool
Now it's over for me and it's over for you
Well it's gone, gone, baby, it's all gone
There is no one on the corner and there's no one at home
Well it was cool cool, it was just all cool
Now it's over for me and it's over for you

I believe the world is burning to the ground
Oh well I guess we're gonna find out
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come
Well I, believe, it all, is coming to an end
Oh well, I guess, we're gonna pretend,
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come
Let's see how far we've come

It was the rest of the song from earlier. I smiled and he said "We've come so far never forget that. Just once in a while check and see how far we've come." I nodded and said "Let's go spread some hope," we started to walk and I yelled "Hope will survive. It will never die. LONG LIVE HOPE!"
