Tiana's POV

Hakeem was taking a shower as I was in the bedroom looking at old photos. One photo caught my eye. It was a picture of us at the premiere of Hakeem's debut movie "When Cookie met Lucious." We were so young. I keep skimming through the pictures. I came across a picture of "her" Sadness came over me as I thought about Hakeem once being married to someone else.

Flashback:

The kids and I took our seats as we waited for Hakeem's performance. I was pissed and hurt that Hakeem had Maya on his arms. I can't believe he really got drunk in Vegas and married her. And now she's here at the premiere of "When Cookie met Lucious" I decided to put on a brave face and smile and be supportive for the kids sake. Hakeem finally hit the stage.

"Daddy, Daddy" Bella replied clapping her hands.

"Daddy, Daddy." Prince replied copying off his sister.

I sat Prince in my lap.

Loyalty and honor, ride to the death
Learn from these struggles, then apply it to the test
Be like David and Goliath, to these giants, when they pressed
If livin' through your worst got you dyin' for the best
You a Lyon in the flesh
Yeah, you a Lyon in the flesh
Thank God, I'm a Lyon in the flesh (God, I'm a Lyon in the flesh)
No more hurt, no more cryin' when I'm stressed (Nah)
I took the oath to be a Lyon in the flesh (Yeah)

[Verse 1]

It started out in Philly when the cutie in the streets
Named Cookie met Lucious, it was Beauty and the Beast
Was it lust a first sight or was it love to the end?
Only thing we'll know for sure is they was more than just a friend (Nah)
He would look into her eyes to see the fire within
She looked back into his eyes and saw Messiah in him (Yeah, yeah)

This was destiny, fate, like it was higher than them
Then three boys later, let the Empire begin (Uh huh)
See Andre the oldest son, though, it ain't a surprise
Like his father, dedicated, educated and wise
But Jamal the middle child felt the greatest divide
A lifestyle that Lucious didn't hesitate to despise (Yeah)
Attention between the two, recipe for demise

'Cause everybody know a Lyon's legacy is its pride (Uh huh)
I arrived the youngest child, but I'm right in the zone
Last descendant of a king willin' to fight for the throne
I was bread for this, how could I have feared this point?
My own mama did seventeen years in the joint
I'm here for everything they owe me, I ain't makin' it close
Born ready, so I'm takin' the oath
It go—

End of flashback:

"Babe you okay?" "Why are you crying" Hakeem replied.

I didn't realize I had tears in my ears.

"Um I didn't hear you get out the shower." I replied wiping the tears from my eyes.

"Yeah you were pretty zone out." Said Hakeem

"But why were you crying?" Hakeem asked again.

"Um it's nothing." I Replied.

"If it was nothing then why were you cryin?" Hakeem questioned.

Hakeem look down and noticed the pictures.

"Wow look is this from the premiere of "When Cookie Met Lucious"

"We were so young." Hakeem replied.

He notice the pictures of him and Maya.

"Babe." Hakeem replied in a soft voice.

"I was just thinking how our anniversary is coming up." "And I almost forgot how you were once married to someone else." I replied not making any eye contact with Hakeem.

"Babe that was a long time ago." "That marriage didn't mean anything to me. Replied Hakeem

"If it didn't mean anything then why did she show up with you as your date and you parading her around as Ms. Lyon." I snapped.

"You can't possibly still be upset." That was 12 years ago." Hakeem replied

"I'm still hurt because you were willing to stay in that marriage, even after telling me you were getting an annulment." "And these pictures brought back so many memories."

"That was a long time ago babe." Hakeem replied.

I got up to leave.

"Where are you going?" Hakeem called.

To check on my kids. I snapped

I knocked on Prince door. He didn't answer.

I knocked again. Still no answer.

That's unlike Prince.

I went into his room.

He was laying down and all of a sudden I had a weird feeling. Something is wrong. I notice the bottle of pills on the floor next to his bed.

I check his pulse. He's not breathing. I began to panicked.

"Hakeem" I screamed.

Hakeem barged into the room.

"What's wrong?" Hakeem said in a worried tone.

"It's Prince." "He's not breathing."

Hakeem called 911 as I perform CPR on Prince.
