For the past five months, Parker Astor has completely avoided Alexis, steering clear of her. During forced interactions, he shoots her bitter glances, making his disdain for her clear. She doesn't mind. Shivers run down her back as she massages her arms, her gaze slowly landing on his figure. He's rising from the water, his muscles glistening with water as he steps out of the pool. She remembers those muscles against her hands. She breathes. The most unnerving thing about his figure is his smile. Wide, covering his entire face. And the smile is directed towards her. His gorgeous eyes pierce into hers as he stops in front of her, and he lightly ruffles his hair.

"Thanks" He flashes her a genuine smile, one that meets his eyes. One she has not seen ever since they broke up several months ago. She wants to tell him that she didn't do it for him. She wants to say that he should not be fucking thanking her because she will tear him apart as soon as possible. She wants to say so many things, but those words are left, unsaid, on her tongue. Her tongue is weighed down.

She is silent, staring at him. She can feel Lena's gaze, calmly piercing into the side of her head. She can sense Alexis's weakness, her inability to speak. Even after all this time, she cannot force the words that need to be said through her lips. He stares at her expectantly, but after a few seconds, he flashes another warm smile and leaves. She didn't realize how much of a burden she'd lift off Parker. His happiness surprises her. He should not be happy. He should not be okay. But she already has the next target in mind. Duke has been pushing his limits. And she'd like to level the playing field.

Duke is her next target. After her suspension, she had stumbled onto Max, high on several drugs, at a random beach in the middle of nowhere. Several girls were dangling off him, and she had dragged him home, tucking him in bed. Duke had enabled it. Duke had let it happen. She owes her life to Max. She doesn't know if she'd be alive today without him. She can't let it go. She can't let Duke's actions slide.

"It's cute of him to assume you did it for him" Lena comments, yanking her back into reality. She twists her bikini top, wringing out the water. A towel is wrapped around her waist, covering the bottom half of her body as she lounges, shielding her eyes from the sun.

Alexis blinks, comprehending her words, "Yeah, honestly" She doesn't know why she was unable to speak. She should have no problem with telling off Parker, as she always has. His attitude had left her in complete silence. His happiness. It was unnerving. It's the first time she's seen him happy in ages.

Lena just toys with her glass, clearly deep in thought,"You know, I'm bored of boys telling me what to do. What I've done wrong, what I've done right," Lena adds, lifting the drink to her lips as Alexis seconds her, lifting her own drink, that she and Lena have been watching carefully. After last week, she has taken no risks "And I'm sick of Blair. Assuming she understands me"

"But Blair was right in a sense, wasn't she?" Alexis carefully asks, and she watches Lena's smile shrivel as a flat look crosses her face. She dryly chuckles, watching Alexis's widened eyes.
