It's night, it's dark, but it's not quiet. The tv, the wind and the clicking of my pen fill the room with noise, moving along in a strange mismatched rhythm. It's loud but soothing like a steady paced song. The sound is all around me, hugging me, protecting me from the dangers of sadness but there's only so much noise a single person can take. It's caving in on me, slowly crushing me, depriving me of air. I look around, confused, there's no one else around. The noise wraps itself around me and squeezes my body, holding on like a snake ready to devour its prey. I drop my pen as my breathing gets faster, more erratic. I try to draw in more air but it all burns in my lungs as if my chest were on fire. My skin is itchy and prickly, it feels like spiders are crawling all over me. I dig my fingernails into my hands, cutting into my skin, small drops of blood trickled out. I'm gasping as the heat in my lungs rises to my throat. I'm barely breathing at all. The noises are echoing in my ears, getting louder and louder as each second of this attack goes by. I can't hear anything but the noise, it haunts me like a maddened spirit. I frantically look around, hoping to catch a glimpse of anyone who could help me break free from the sounds that consume me. No one is there, no one can help. I felt even more confused and my breathing became more intense. Any oxygen that had been left was no longer here, it was like breathing in blue flames. I couldn't handle it anymore. Admitting defeat, I curled up into a small ball and accepted my fate, I was going to stay like this until I died. I can't save myself anymore. My vision was getting darker and blurry, the noise was the only thing left. I look down at my desk and see my phone resting on its surface. I reach out and pick it up.
