PoV: Sonic

"Kōgeki, kōgeki. Karera ga shinu made tatakatte kudasai!"

"What the hell are you singing?" Shadow looked up from the robot he was inspecting.

"Oh nothing, just a little song," I laughed. Recently the Master emerald has been whispering to me in another language. It turned out, I was naturally fluent in it. I only wondered if it was due to the piece I swallowed.

"I didn't know you were bilingual," Shadow walked up to me, he had oil on his face.

"There's a lot you don't know about me," I wiped the oil from his cheek with a damp towel.

"I'm aware, which is why your next order is going to be telling me more about yourself."

"How boring... I was hoping for a fight instead," I laid back and fiddled with the teddy bear I had stolen a while back.

"You have to wait until Eggman gives those orders," he said what I expected him to. Always waiting for Eggman, "Now, go on with your order. Your past, abilities, I want to know everything."

"I was born who knows where," I said, "My mother didn't want me, she left me on the doorstep of a house in the woods. I lived there with my foster parents until I was around five. I learned I had speed while I lived there. Then Robotnik destroyed it. Eggman's grandfather. From there, I was on my own with my uncle," I went on with this boring story. I answered every question he had.

"How could you have been battling Robotnik before I existed?" Shadow asked.

"You weren't made on mobius," I reminded him, "You were made on that planet Earth. Where time moves faster. A month for me here, is a year there. When Sally and I destroyed Robotnik's base, it vanished completely. When the rest of us were sent to Earth and we found the Arch, I knew that Robotnik wasn't defeated. He was nearly sent to another world. And he made you. Fifty years on earth is fifty months here. Four years and two months for me. Then we add the seventeen years you were free. Seventeen months, a year and five months. You were made as Eggman began his terror on my world. You might be older than me, but you're not original. Robotnik had to get his inspiration from someone. Looks like it was me and my power rings."

  Shadow was tense, he had violent chaos energy swirling withing him. He wasn't to happy knowing the facts. To me, he was only six and a half years old. But the reality was, he was at least sixty seven years old. Seventeen mentally. I didn't need to tease him any longer.

"What are these power rings you keep mentioning?" He was changing the topic to keep from getting frustrated.

"It's something my uncle made for me, long before he was robotizied. A power stone is placed in a machine at the bottom of a lake in Knothole. Every twenty four hours a new power ring rises over the water. Then you just need to catch it before in falls into the lake. It keeps other people from taking them, and I'm afraid I'm the only one who can use them. Seeing as they were made for my abilities."

"Does the machine still exist?"

"It does, but the powerstone ran dry some time ago. Now we use chaos emeralds to make rings."

"I see. The ones by the chaos emeralds can be used by anyone," he sat down besides me.

"I'm getting bored of this Shadow. I don't enjoy talking about who I once was."

"I don't care. Keep going," he ordered.

"Fine. It takes a lot of food to keep up with my energy. Hence why I eat so often..."
  
  
PoV: Tails

"This won't work. Sonic can get out of any trap I make him," I groaned.

"What are you doing?" Amy came into my workshop.

"I think if we trap Sonic, we can talk to him. But he's escaped all the traps I built him before- Except the one in the ice..." I got up and grabbed a fresh sheet to start my next blueprint, "Amy, I know how we can capture Sonic."

"Are you sure?" Amy held my hand, "Sonic is powerful..."

"But he still can't swim. So long as we have that, we have a trap. Now we just need the bait."

  I'm sorry Sonic, but this has to be done. For your sake.
