I'm afraid that my limp was really, really obvious as I walked into school. That boy just doesn't know when to stop! Actually, that's a lie, I seem to recall telling him not to rather loudly last night. At least he's helping me, though. I found a boy that knows how to take care of my fragile booty... Quite literally.

"You okay? Do you need a break?" Oliver was fluttering around me while he tried frantically to take care of me, but instead of finding it annoying like I did before, it just increased my desire for him. Someone cares about me!

"Oli, I'm fine. I'll be better once we can make it to first period and I get to sit down." The slightly older man smiled at me warmly, and I continued my minor struggle down the hallway. Eyes lingered on us while whispers were exchanged, but I felt like I was on top of the world. Whatever rumors they're spreading, I can handle it. When we reached first block, I couldn't help but flop down into my seat. It isn't just because I'm sore; walking is seriously hard, people! I slumped down into the desk while I pulled out my notebook, and I could feel a pair of eyes burning the side of my head. "Blake I know I'm fabulous, but you're gonna burn my pretty hairrrr." I made a show of covering the brown locks from his stare which then turned blank with amusement.

"Sorry, just trying to figure out what this slooshe ball did to my best friend!"

"Hey, hey calm down! It was all consenting!" Blake glared at me as I spoke more, and I let out a childish giggle at his expression.

"You let him... Oh my innocent baby~" While Blake tried to hug me innocently, I found myself pushing away. Sometimes he sees me as an angel, but that isn't me either. It's impossible for me to be just an angel or just the devil. I mean, I am kind of mated to a demon, but we don't talk about that for the time being. He pulled my head close enough that his lips nearly brushed my ears as he breathed, "I'm low-key proud of you, bro. I mean the v-card? Sick."

His genuine reaction made me smile, and I couldn't help but to hug my back tightly. "Thank you... Does this mean you accept him?"

"I don't like it, but I'll tolerate it. I just wanna see you happy, bro. I don't mean to get all sappy on ya, but seeing a smile in the orphanage was rare once you got to 13. I'm happy that you finally have someone."

The teacher called for quiet over the lot of us, and I rolled my eyes at there desperation. She was making that "I'll wait" face that bitchy teachers make, and it was motivating me to talk more instead of less. Eh, whatever... Boring class.

I had finally walked off my soreness by lunchtime, and I stepped through the tables slowly. Suddenly, my phone began to go off, and I picked it up as I sat down at the table.

"You need to get everyone here now!" I was shook at the intensity layered in my dad's voice, and I felt my heart beat slamming in my chest.

"Why what's happening?" All of the eyes around the table were on me now, but there's no time to waste with the nerves in Papa's voice.

"The demons are on the move. They're flying across the earth as we speak and we might only have 20 minutes. Move your ass!" my uncle chimed in, but I was too focused on my current emotions to revel in the fact that he still sounds like the American Gordon Ramsey.

The line went dead, and I stood up so fast that my chair flew across the cafeteria. "We have to go!"

Jack had noodles halfway into his mouth, but he swallowed them quickly with a nervous gulp. "Is it happening?"

"They think it might be."

"Devon, let me come." I turned to look into Blake's pleading eyes, and I nodded my head firmly before grabbing Oli around the wrist and pulling his zoned out ass towards the door. Now everyone is staring at us, but we have to go go go. There isn't any time to waste in the war for our lives. Linc's black SUV skidded to a fast halt in the bus loop, and I pushed my boyfriend all the way in before climbing inside myself. Blake and Daniel ended up together in the back of the car, and Jack slammed the sliding chair back to lock them in so he could sit down. His left foot was hardly in the vehicle before it sped off down the road, but he managed to squeeze the limb in before it was squished. The boy flew across our laps when the car took a sharp left, and I was left with his stanky ass feet in my face.

"Owww dad chill on the left turns my God!" His words were in vain as the man then took a really hard right that sent him back into his own seat. Thankfully the teenager managed to click in his seatbelt before the next episode of car acrobatics, and he only squished against my body when the next turn came. Who in the hell makes the six foot tall boy sit on the hump seat? My knees are all the way up inside of my chest, and I kept squishing the hell out of poor Jack to my left.

Suddenly the car's breaks slammed on, and I felt the stupid little seat belt dig into my groin. Okay, that hurts really, really bad! There was a loud crunch, and the world began to spin in circles agonizingly slowly.

A scream made its way out of my lips when I saw a red liquid fly though the now spinning and flipping car, but Oli pressed a reassuring hand onto my shoulder. When the car finally stopped, I was dangling upside-down with the blood rushing into my head. My first instinct was to survive, so I swiftly unclasped my seatbelt and plummeted onto the roof.

My body crunched on some glass, but I didn't care in my quest to break out of the car. I swiped at the sharp objects with my hands until I found a Devon sized hole to crawl through into the outside world. A whole bunch of people were crowed around the car looking for a way to save the family inside, and it only took a few people to notice me before I was dragged out of the scrap. People swarmed me trying to heal me, but I cried out for my family in the car. I cried out for my soulmate still dangling from that seat. My words were a ramble about helping the others, but I could see others working on flipping the SUV back over. My body was lifted into a stretcher, but I was still shouting for the others. Finally, I saw Oliver dragged out of the broken car, and he had a little trail of blood down his forehead that made me shout out louder.

"1...2...3!" As soon as the countdown was done, my body relaxed on its own accord. No, this can't be happening! The darkness greeted me like an old friend, and I was dragged down... Oliver...
