Chapter 26: Hope

"The princess?!" The other Lucy exclaims. "Princess?" I question. "Is she the Edolas version of me?" Lucy then asks. "There they are!" "Over there!" Some guards spot us. 

"Let's talk later! They'll catch us if we stay!" Happy shouts. "Alright then. Natsu! Take care of these guys!" I say. "How?" He asks. I raise a brow and say, "With your magic, obviously!" I tell him. 

"We can't use our magic!" Natsu informs me. My jaw drops. He gets in my face, "How can you and Lucy use it?!" 

"I don't know!" I answer and look back at the guards. "Alright then... everyone cover your eyes," I warn. They all place their arms or hands over their faces as I raise my hand up into the air. "Sirius!" I cast. I white and blinding light is released and all of the guards scream as they light burns their eyes. 

"Let's go!" I said to the others. They all open one eye to see where they're going. We run off as the guards are distracted. "Well done!" "Thanks Y/n." The others praise me and I give them a thumbs up.

We run to a part of the woods and sit on some logs. "We should be safe out here, right?" Wendy asks the other Lucy.

"I'm still confused as to how you and Lucy are here." Natsu tells me. 

"We were worried that you'd been turned into a lacrima." Wendy says after.  

"Horologium and Mystogan saved me." Lucy tells us and explains to us how she was saved. 

"I saw Mystogan too. Before the whole sucking in happened." I give a brief explanation. 

"How did Mystogan know about Edolas?" Wendy asks.

"He didn't say." Lucy answers. 

"Why are  you two the only ones who can use magic here?" Happy asks us. 

"I honestly don't know." Lucy answers. 

"Are you guys seriously gonna take on the kingdom?!" Lucy A asks us. 

"Obviously, it's for our friends." I answer.  

"Waging war with the kingdom even though you can't use magic..." Lucy A whispers. 

"Hold on! We can use magic!" Lucy protests. 

"Leave this to me, Fairy Tail's most powerful wizards!" Lucy then adds at the end. "I'm all fired up!"

"Y/n, yeah, but I don't know about you Lucy..." Natsu says quietly. 

"We'll just have to rely on them." Carla adds. 

"You guys can do it!" Wendy supports. 

Lucy starts posing confidently as Wendy hypes her up.

"Why were you wearing that stupid cloak to begin with?" Natsu asks me as we sit in our hotel room. 

"I don't know. Mystogan just told me to wear it." I answer. 

"Guys, look." Wendy calls me and Natsu over and we sit on the couch as she sets something up on the coffee table. 

"This is a map of Edolas I borrowed from the hotel staff." Wendy shows us. 

"Here is where Edolas' Fairy Tail is," Carla points in a direction, "A frog chased us right around here." She points somewhere else, "The city of Louen is where we met Lucy," Another point, "And this is Sycca, where we are now," She points, "And the royal city, our destination, is here."

"So it's still a long way to go." I sigh. 

"Plus we have to be careful not to get noticed by the royal army." Wendy adds. "Who knows how long it'll take us to get there..." 

"Hey, check it out!" We look up and see Lucy A with a towel wrapped around herself. "Me and her even got the exact same body!" She tells us, talking about our Lucy. 

"Don't come out dressed like that!" Lucy H yelps. 

"Edo-Lucy! Natsu is sitting right here!" Wendy exclaims. 

"So? I don't care." Lucy A responds. 

"Doublucy sure is lively!" Happy comments and I agree with him by nodding. I look to my side and see Natsu staring hard at Lucy A. 

"What is it, Natsu? Do you wanna see?" Lucy A teases. 

"Stop!" Lucy shouts at her. Natsu then laughs. 

"I just thinking... you two can finally wash your backs now." Natus giggles. 

"He is such a child." The two Lucys say. 

"You really do look so much alike! I can't tell you apart!" Wendy says. 

"You guys can do mirror impressions of each other!" Natsu adds on. 

"Forget it!" The two Lucys yell. 

"It's like Gemini showed up!" I say. 

"Gemini?" Lucy A asks. 

"Celestial spirits I'm contracted with." Lucy explains. "They can turn into lookalikes of other people!" Lucy grabs their key, "Open, Gate of the Twins! Gemini."

"Tadah! Here's Gemini!" They appear already cloned as Lucy.

"Awesome! This would make for a great "guess-who" party game!" Natsu says. 

 "The 'Who's the Real Deal?" Quiz!" Happy pretends to be a game host. The three Lucys pose. All say the same thing, "I'm Lucy!" 

"So, which one is the real deal?" Happy asks us. Wendy, Carla, and I voted 1 while Natsu voted 3. 

"You just lost the game big time!" The three Lucys yell at him.

We were dressed and ready for bed. While everyone was asleep, I hear movement. I wake up and see Lucy A grabbing her things. "Where are you going?" I ask her.  

"I can't stay here right now." She tells me. I notice a sheet of paper in her hands. 

"So you just planned on leaving a note and just leaving? Quitting?" I ask her. She looks down at the note in her hands. 

"I know this all seems like too much. I'm sure you and your Fairy Tail are tired of fighting and not seeing any change, so you gave up. But that's when the real work begins. To find hope where there seems to be absolutely none at all."
