*Chapter 65: It's Over 9000 | Day Three

"Oh man I was really hoping to fight monsters." I whine. I look over at Erza and see her team crying and praising her.

"Eh... since the Pandemonium was already taken care of by Fairy Tail A's Erza Scarlet, there was discussion and decided that the other 7 teams will ranked through a simple game. A Magic Power Finder! Or MPF for short!"

I guess 8 has its advantages. I can watch examine everyone before I go. They carried out a large podium with a light blue orb on top of it. We all got in a line.

"This device is used to rank magic power. When the machine is hit with magic, the magic power will be displayed as a numeral value. Those values is what will rank the players."

"A test of strength, huh? I guess I'm at a disadvantage." Hibiki sighs. "Incidentally,
Y/n are you free tonight?" Hibiki asks me. I smile at him, "I am, but no thank you."

"What a shame." He winks.

The first one up was Millianna, who pulled out the #2 stick.

"We can't let Erza show us up!" Millianna tells me. I smile, "Yup. I'll hug you after the competition, but for now, we're rivals."

"Hit us with everything you have." She says before she steps up. She removes her hooded cape and reveals a tight and reveal suit. The men in the crowd get heart eyes. "Kitten Blast!" A spiral of pink energy hit the blue orb. A huge '365' was displayed.

"The value is 365! Without a benchmark to compare the score to, we can't tell if it's a high score or not. Mr. Lahar?"

"We rune knights use the MPF as a part of our training. The score is high enough to make someone a captain."

Impressive. "Yay!" Millianna runs to me. "Beat that!" She smirks. Next was Quatro Puppy. His score was 124.

"Novali from Quatro Puppy clocks in at 124! A little low! With that score, Millianna from Mermaid Heel is in first place! Next is Hibiki of Blue Pegasus."

The crowd goes crazy. Hibiki steps forward, "Looks like I'm up." He unbuttons one of his buttons. Hibiki attacks the orb and immediately collapses over crying when the score reads 94.

"Blue Pegasus' Hibiki comes in at 95...!"

"Oh how humiliating." Hibiki says to himself and the crowd cheers. Hibiki drags himself over to me and wraps his arms around my legs crying. I laugh at him, bend down, and start rubbing his head.

"Want me to cheer you up tonight?" I ask jokingly.

"Yes, I need your comfort now." He says.

"Next is Obra of Raven Tail!"

I stand up and kick Hibiki off to watch. The blue thing extends its arms and a little creature flies out and hits the orb.

"The magic score is.... 4?!"

"I'm sorry, but there are no do-overs." The pumpkin tells Obra.

"Millianna stays in the lead with a score of 365!"

"Yay! I'm number #1! Meow!" She cheers.

Olga steps up, "We'll see about that."

"Here comes Sabertooth's Olga! The crowd's going wild for him!"

"120-mm Black Lightning Cannon!" A blast of black and yellow lightning shot from his hands and hit the orb. 3825. Impressive.

"I-It's over 3000?!"

"Meow! Ten times more than me?!" Millianna's eyes widen. Olga is handed a mic and he sings, "Strongest, strongest, number 1~! We're the unbeatable Sabertooth!"

"Now to see if Ten Wizard Saint Jura can surpass that number or not!"

Jura steps forward, "Mind if I give it my all?" He asks.

"Go all out, kabo!" The pumpkin encourages. Jura concentrates before casting, "Rumbling Mt. Fuji!" A massive earthquake occurred and a laser of bright blue shot up at the sky when he attacked the machine.

"8544?! Th-This is absolutely mind blowing! This is a new MPF score!"

All of Fairy Tail stare at the last one. Y/n was next. Even if she couldn't beat Jura's score, she could at least beat Olga's.

"His Wizard Saint title is just for show! And the final challenger is Fairy Tail B's Y/n Fernandes!"

I haven't even thought about what spell I wanted to use.

"Having to follow Jura must be daunting, but..."

"Do your best, kabo!" The pumpkin tells me. I nod and step forward.

All were ready to see what the girl was going to do. "Okay, let's do this thing!" Y/n says. The Fernandes girl raises his fist up into the sky. The clouds turn red and swirl. A loud thunder was heard that caused everyone to jump. "Proxima Centauri!" Another thunder noise was heard.

What happened next took everyone by surprise.

A tiny little ray of lightning shot down and hit the orb. The sky turned back to normal. All just stared at the orb. It was so quiet that you could hear someone blinking.

"W-Was that it?" Natsu asks. Y/n herself was confused. This was actually her first time trying this spell. She read about it at the beach. The blue orb started slowly turning red.

"K-kabo?"

The now red orb creates a huge explosion and sends all the contestants, including Y/n, flying back. The crowd screams as they hold on for dear life. Y/n coughs and looks at the orb to see it was completely destroyed.

"I-I can't believe it! The MPF has been destroyed! The score is off the scale!"

Y/n smiles and stands up. The score was 9999.

"This guild is unbelievable! It finishes the event in 1st and 2nd place! Can no one stop Fairy Tail now?!"

I extend my arms out, "We're unstoppable!"
