You picked up your phone on the second ring.

"Yeoboseyo?" You held your metal box against your ear as you walked down the street. Your leg felt much better now and the injuries seemed to leave nothing except dull pain and a few scrapes as they continued to heal.

'Y/N! Where are you? I've been looking everywhere for you!'

"Why don't you call me kitten like you did yesterday?" You retorted, clearly annoyed by the blonde who had called you in such urgency.

'Lee Y/N,' he gritted through his teeth, voice suddenly turning low and husky, sending shivers down your spine.

"Sorry..." You said in a small voice. "Look, I didn't want to disturb you so I went out without telling. I'm heading for my house right now..."

'You're meeting your parents now? I thought I was gonna drop you this evening.'

"Yeah, dad called. He said that they'll leave this evening and that... yeah, so I'm almost there," you looked at your clothes which were actually Soohyun's borrowed ones and then averted your gaze to see your house standing in a distance. It was afternoon right now and you had left Jimin's house shortly after Soohyun and Yoona had gone out to the park. And before Jimin came back from his police department.

'When should I pick you up then?' He asked over the line. You tried to deny his request but the man wouldn't budge. 'I'm picking you up Y/N. Tell me the time.'

"An hour," you squeaked and quickly ended the call. You didn't want to face him and there was a clear reason why. It was all because of yesterday. Last night's outing to a traditional restaurant hadn't been much help in righting things between the two of you either because you two didn't talk much. Yoona did, she was way too jumpy last night and Soohyun was all smiling and stuff. Jimin smiled too, but not a genuine one. You could see it in his eyes, how he had multiple things looming around his head and how he had a soft expression as he listened to Soohyun talk about things. That outing had been a nice one, except that you felt like an outcast and this:

<"Chimchim, why don't you ever kiss Y/N eonnie?" She whined before goading the both of you to kiss. Your cheeks instantly heated up as you glanced at Jimin who sighed exasperatedly. All four of you were sitting on floor cushions around a table. "My friend at school asked his parents to kiss because they were mad at each other."

"Yoona, it's not nice to say that," Jimin scolded her and the girl's expression became remorseful.

"Aish, Yoona-ya," you shook your head and offered her a smile. "Everyone is always getting angry at little Yoona, no one gets her," she scooted closer to you as you ruffled her head, Soohyun giggling at the scene and poured herself a second glass of wine. "Don't worry, I'm here for you."

"Uff, noona!" Jimin tried to get the bottle away from the elder but she just tsked at him. "You shouldn't drink-!!"

"Jiminie, you worry too much," she smiled. "This barely contains 14% alcohol.">

All in all, you had a nice night but nothing got better between you and Jimin. Maybe you were just overthinking the situation. Maybe it wasn't that much big of a deal at all. You had no way of telling.

You opened the gates and the door when you reached your house and were met with not the friendly greetings as you used to back at Jimin's (where Soohyun would always greet you cheerfully) but loud noises from the lounge.

Noises that tensed you up.

With a heavy heart, you walked up to the source of the noise to see your parents- no sign of Dongseok- fighting with each other. Both of them were standing in rivalry to the other, had their voices raised and were literally at each others' throats. The sofas, tables, shoved; even the furniture seemed to be shook from them.
