"That's stupid," Sero said irritably.
"No it's not."
"It's stupid."
"No it's not!"
"You're stupid."
"Dude!" Kaminari argued.
"You CAN'T SMELL underwater," Sero facepalmed himself. "You'd literally inhale water and DROWN."
"The first human to smell water-"
"YOU'RE STUPID. LITERALLY STUPID, JUST STOP TALKING," Sero pleaded with Kaminari before he suffered a midday migraine. Kaminari pouted as Sero began listing off multiple reasons why he was obviously wrong.
At reason #2 Kaminari had stopped paying attention entirely, throwing his head back with a mumble. He felt someone brush his arm and startle him, when he looked back down he found Jirou zig zagging through the crowded ocean of students as they filed out the doorway

Originally, Kaminari was supposed to catch Jirou before she made it to her dorm to cut her hair. At this point in time in the canon story, the moment she cut her hair and Kaminari found her was the end of her character arc, while Kaminari's was still ongoing.
After that moment the moon is constantly symbolized to show that she'll shine for him if he can't do it himself, which is what the "Growing Anxiety" chapter was for. We can clearly tell Kaminari still suffers from guilt so his arc doesn't end until the confession.
Also, for the confession scene, I remembered someone said Kami was a coward. It made me smile because that's exactly why I made Jirou confess first :)
