Loki had lied to me. What I hate the most in all the worlds are lies. Loki had the throne but he had caused his brother to become banished, and given the opportunity to bring Thor back, he did not.

"Loki, I wish to speak with you."
"What is it?"
I eyed the guards standing still at the doors.
"Privately."
Loki signaled for the guards to leave the room. He crossed his legs and nodded his head at me, letting me know I had his full attention.
"I want to know the truth."
"Excuse me?"
"I practically sold my soul to you, I deserve to at least know what you are planning with that twisted mind of yours."
"Funny, I thought I had already spoken to you of my plans."
"You have-"
"Then I do not understand why you are pestering me."
"We are both fully aware that you have not told me everything."
He shrugged "I have told you what you need to know."
"I need to know everything."
"Well if you are so keen on learning to go to the castle's library."
"Loki, do not treat me like a fool."
"But you are one, darling."
I felt myself bubbling up with fury. I took a deep breath, I knew anger would only cause trouble but I could simply not contain it.
"You are so, infuriating! I despise you and your little games! Rule your kingdom alone because-" I stopped yelling when I felt a strong pain hit my chest. The throne room was spinning and I was having trouble breathing. Tears slipped out as the pain worsened.
At some point Loki came to my aid, holding me in his arms, whispering words of comfort that were lost to me. I felt his cold hand take mine. I closed my eyes and squeezed his hand, slowly the pain faded away. It took me longer to stand, leaning my weight against Loki.
"T-thank you," I muttered breathlessly.
"Are you alright?" he asked
I nodded slightly, my head still aching.
"Guards!" Loki called out, holding me firmly in his arms.
Asmund and two other guards stepped into the throne room.
"What is it Prince Loki?" asked Asmund
"My wife is ill. Take her to our dorm and you two," he pointed to the other guards "bring her a healer."
"Yes my lord."

I lay in bed watching the beautiful sky. The white whips of cloud illuminated by radiant bursts of orange rays of sun. The orange light contrasting against the pastel blue, fading into the night. I heard the door open and smiled as I watched Loki make his way towards me. He sat beside me. His hand found mine, while his other hand stroked my hair.
"Feeling any better?"
I smiled thankfully, our previous argument long forgotten.
"Yes, lay beside me for I am cold."
Loki shifted into our bed holding me against his front.
"You gave me quite a scare today."
"I do not know what happened to me." I admitted
"Worry not, I will protect you."
I turned my body to face him, still remaining in his arms.
"How romantic."
Loki smiled softly, taking my hands in his.
"You said once, that you loved me. Is this still true?"
"Yes Loki, I do. Even if you are stubborn and cold."
"Would you love me, if I was a monster?"
"Whatever do you mean?"
"Would you?" he pressed, his hands tightening.
"Of course I would still love you. Why are you asking me this?"
Without a word his skin began to change into a dark shade of blue.
"This is what I really am."
