Chapter 1-Tessa

Our little Emery is growing so much everyday she is already 6 but acts 16 she is just like Hardin she will only let certain people get close to her she doesn't have many friends in school she is very opinionated will say it how it is and always has an answer to everything but she is also so sweet she has a very big heart she will write us little cards saying how much she loves us and put them on our pillows you can't thank her tho she will get really embarrassed

The past 3 years me and Hardin have been trying for a second child and finally it has happened I am 3 months pregnant with our second child and we couldn't be happier my feet are already swollen and my stomach is getting bigger I can just tell this is going to be a big baby

I'm nervous to tell Emery that I'm expecting just because the past 6 years it has just been the 3 of us I don't know how she will feel Hardin thinks she is going to be ok but I'm not sure I just don't want her to feel left out because a baby takes a lot of work and constantly need your attention how will we be able to share it with 2 people

"Are you ready to tell her"Hardin disturbs my thoughts "I'm not sure"

"Love it will be alright trust me"he smiles to me "and how are you so sure"I sarcastically say "because I'm always right"he winks and I laugh as we walk down to Emery's room when we walk in she is asleep in her bed ever since she started school she has been much more tired and needs a nap everyday after school "look at her it's the quietest she has ever been"Hardin laughs "better wake her up or she will never sleep tonight"I tell him I sit down beside her on her little bed and gently stir her "noooo"she slurs
"Come on baby it's time to wake up"she slowly opens her eyes

"hi mommy"she wipes her eyes "hi baby"I give her a kiss and she crawls into my lap "how was school you must have done a lot of hard work"Hardin jokes "it was...wait I made something in school"she jumps of my lap and runs out of the room a few moments later she returns with her bag

"I made you and daddy and picture in arts and crafts it took me a really long time"she pulls her picture out of her bag "here"I take it from her hands on the paper it's a drawing of me ,Hardin and Emery I'm smiling down at the picture and I can see Emery is getting nervous "it's beautiful Em"Hardin says and she gives him a small smile "that's you Mommy with your summer dress on me with my summer dress on and daddy with his whole outfit black as per usual"she looks to Hardin and he laughs

"Emery we have some news we want to tell you"I say and she looks confused "how would you feel if we added someone new to the family"

"I'm not so sure I know what you mean"

"Em mommy's trying to say she is going to have a baby your going to be a big sister"

"No thanks"she shakes her head and walks out of the room "I knew she wasn't going to be ok"I throw my hands in the air me and Hardin follow her out she is sitting on the bar stool "Emery are you ok"I ask she is been to quiet "ye I'm fine"she sighs

"Did mommy and daddy make you upset with what we said"Hardin asks her and she nods her head "why"he asks her gently she is definitely more open to him then me "I don't want a new baby because then you won't love me anymore"

"Emery of course we will still love you that will never change"I pull her into my arms and she lets out small cry's I knew she would probably be upset but not this much
