Chapter 23-Hardin

Finally I'm home my flight was delayed so it's 1am by the time I get in I didn't bother texting Tess I knew she would be asleep but all day and yesterday she was acting really weird I as quietly as I can go into the bedroom to change I can see Emery beside Tessa I get into bed and Emery rolls over onto her side what the hell is that on her head is that stitches "Tessa"I nudge her "mmm what"

"What happened to Emery"

"Nothing to worry about" and she rolls back over I take a closer look at Emery's head that doesn't look like nothing "Tessa that's not nothing"I say and I hear her huff and she sits up been careful not to wake the kids "Hardin we can talk about it in the morning"is she joking "no I want to talk about it"I say and she climbs out of then bed and I follow her she shuts over the bedroom door "well"

"Emery was on her scooter and she fell and hit her head of the coffee table and had to get stitches"

"Why didn't you ring me"

"Because I knew you would act like this I didn't want to worry you"she lays her head on my chest I know she is probably exhausted "Sorry I didn't mean to over react like that I tell her"and she doesn't respond. I look down I think she fell asleep I shake her and she opens her eyes "what"she rubs her eyes "nothing let's just go back to bed"I tell her and we walk back in "I'm glad your home"she says yawing and closes her eyes and I do the same

I wake up 7am Emery is still sleeping and Tessa and the baby are gone I walk out into the kitchen and Tessa is making food "this smells delicious"I wrap my arms around her "hands to your self"she jokes "you know that doesn't work"I say and she turns around god I just love her she stands on her tippy goes to whisper in my ear "go wake Emery up"she says and laughs "sneaky"I walk out

"Em"I try to wake her "noooo"she says Turing back in the pillow "come on it's time to wake up"

"5 more minutes"

"No it's time to get up"I pick her up and she wraps her arms around me I walk back into the kitchen and put her on the chair and Tessa has the breakfast dished "Emery I have to clean your stitches"Tessa tells her and she whines she wipes it and Emery pulls away "ouch that stings"

"I have to do it Emery or it will get infected"she continues wiping it then puts cream on it "so how exactly did this happen again"

"I was feeding Auden and Emery was going on her scooter inside and I told her to stop and as usual she didn't listen"

"Emery what did I tell you"I say to her and she groans "Anyway how was your trip"

"La is way to hot and the interview was fine it will be out in a couple of weeks"

"I'm proud"she says and I smile "I'm also staring back work next week"

"Ye I'm ready and I have a bunch of people texting me so decided to start back"Tessa is honestly doing amazing with her wedding business she was in the Top 5 wedding planners in the New York Times "Emery school starts back soon are you ready"

"No school is boring"

"Well we have to get your school supplies and stuff soon"I tell her "oh ye Em I found out you don't have Landon again this year"Tessa tells her

"Thank god"

"Emery"Tessa tries to hold in her laugh and I start laughing "what I wanted a new teacher someone who is not family"she states "why so you can get away with more stuff" I say and her eyes go wide "n no"she stutters and me and Tessa look to each other that is exactly why she wants a new teacher she knows Landon tells us everything she does
