Chapter 33-Hardin

She doesn't want to marry me why doesn't she want to marry me I should have waited until she was sober she was to drunk to ask her that but I couldn't wait any longer I was to excited but she said she doesn't want marriage or my last name

I'm driving down the snowy streets of New York why did I say I need a break fuck I was just so taken back when she said no I really thought she would say yes

Where am I even ment to go it's Christmas fuck I left Tessa and the kids on Christmas I pull into a small motel and get a room for the night I walk into the room and realise I should be at home not this cheap shitty hotel room

I lay down on the bed and think of why Tessa would say no we have been together for more then 10 years that's a long time to be with somebody plus we have 2 children together

Maybe she doesn't want to be with me anymore maybe she realised after all this time she doesn't want a relationship

Ok I have to stop putting these thoughts into my head but what if there true lately she has been acting different what if she got board of me

This is going to be a long night

The next morning I wake up after sleeping for 5 minutes with text from Tessa

We need to talk

Are you ok please answer

I ring her and she answers on the first ring "Hardin"

"Tessa"

"Where did you go"she says it's sounds like she has been crying "a motel down the street"

"Can me and the kids come over"

"Can't I come back to the house"

"I think it's better if we come to you"what does she mean by that "Tessa is everything ok"I ask when I don't hear anything

"Ye I'll be there soon"she says hanging up the phone and I send her the address

After about 30 minutes there is a knock on the door I open it and the kids run in "daddy"

"Hey I missed to yous"

"Emery why don't you take your brother to wash his hands"Tessa says to Emery "let's go Auden"she brings him to the bathroom

"Hi"I say to her

"Hi"both of us are looking at the floor not really knowing what to say "we need to talk about last night"I say and she nods "why did you say no"

"It was to much I was to drunk for that serious of a question"

"If I asked you now would you say yes"

"I don't know"

"What do you mean it's either a yes or a no"

"Hardin"she sighs "no tell me Tess I'd I got down again on one knee would you say yes"I say a bit harsher then attended

"No I would say no ok"she covers her face

"Why would you say no"

"Because....we don't need a marriage I ment what I said last night we don't need a piece of paper to say who we are"

"What difference does it make"

"Maybe...we should take a break"she says quiet "what do you mean a break"

"A couple of days apart to think about what we want"

"What is there to think about we have 2 children"

"I known Hardin I know"she snaps "Tessa please"my voice breaks and her eyes soften "I need this"she says

"Fine you can have this break but after you either except my proposal or we're done"I say my mood quickly changing and she stands back "Are you serious"

"Yes I have done everything you have ever wanted of me this is what I want now"I say and Emery and Auden come back out "here is some of your stuff"she says handing me a bag full of stuff

"Come on let's go"

"Is daddy coming"

"Il be home in a couple of days princess"I give her a hug and Auden "oh ok"she says confused "bye daddy"Auden says and they leave and I feel my self start to cry
