Summary: Spidey meets another hero his age

Captain America sighed a long hearty sigh and drew a hand down his face in exasperation. He looked at the viglante in front of him and sighed again. Teenagers. As if the attitude and the hormones weren't enough, he was stuck dealing with a superpowered one as well. "You shouldn't be out here doing this. You're too young."

"Neither should you. You're too old. Yet, here we are," came the counter. Steve sighed again.

"Nice one," Spider-Man laughed frok his spot behind the Star Spangled Man with a Plan. Ms. Marvel shot him a smile, which he seemed to return from what she could tell. Needless to say, Steve sighed again.

"Well, Spider-Man, maybe you'd like to explain to her why a fourteen year old girl shouldn't be fighting criminals," Captain America said, brow raised.

"I'm sixteen!" Ms. Marvel scoffed. "And if me being a girl has anything to do with it, then I'm about to throw two extra large fists."

"Wait," Spider-Man ordered, throwing a finger in the air and marching forward until he stood a foot away, peering up into the eyes of the new girl. "You're sixteen?"

Ms. Marvel rolled her eyes, but nodded.

Hawkeye snickered in the background. "Look at Webs, acting responsible for a change!"

"Says you," Black Widow growled smacking him upside the head.

Spider-Man blinked rapidly. "It's not fair," he groaned, throwing his head back. "I've been doing this for almost a year now and there aren't any other supers who are younger than me!"

Literally everyone did a double-take.

"Wait, how old are you?" Iron Man asked after blinking back his initial shock.

"Fifteen," Spider-Man with crossed arms, sending a playful glare at Ms. Marvel. "I'll be sixteen soon, but apparently not soon enough."

"No way!" Ms. Marvel gasped. "But I can't be older than you, I'm your biggest fan! I wear Spider-Man merch every day!"

Spider-Man chuckled. "Y'know my lab partner in AP Chem for this semester wears a lot of Spidey merch. It's really flattering."

"Wait a second," Ms. Marvel paused, putting the pieces together. Between DC and Homecoming, her lab partner did make a habit of going AWOL whenever the wal-crawler showed up. "Do we know each other?"

"Let's talk more in private in case I am who you seem to think I am." With that, Spidey wrapped an arm around her waist and swung onto the nearest building.

"Peter Parker," she guessed as soon as they were out of earshot.

"Correct. Kamala Khan?"

"Also correct." Kamala gulped. "This is insane. We should talk more about it later."

"I'll show you the ropes on patrol soon if you want," Peter offered.

"That would be amazing!" Kamala squealed.

"Sweet, let's head back down before the others leave," Spider-Man suggested. "Based on their reactions, I don't think any of them had it figured out that I'm a teen." Ms. Marvel nodded, leaping back down to the ground alonside her friend.

"This is kind of insane to think about. Spider-Man tutors me in Geometry! I know Spider-Man! I'm still your biggest fan," Ms. Marvel rambled as  they reapproached the other heroes. "Is it weird since we know each other now to wear Spidey merch? Because I still wanna wear my merch! You're still my favorite superhero. My respect for you has, like, doubled now that I know what you put up with during the day." Her eyes went wide with a thought. "OhmygoshSpider-Mangetsbullied! Wait, why don't you fight back? Nevermind, it's probably some self-righteous crap about not wanting to hurt the other guy, right? You play the 'puny nerdy guy' part pretty well, you know? I would have never thought until you mentioned having someone wearing you merch as a lab partner. I still can't believe Spider-Man is my lab partner! What even is my life? I freaking love my life! This is so awesome!" She squealed a bit at the end.

"Uh, you done?" Spider-Man asked, shifting nervously.

"For now? Yes. But, be warned, more is coming."

"Consider me warned," Spider-Man smiled. He turned back to the Avengers. "What's up?"

"Nothing much, just found out it's been a teenager beating my scores in Mario Kart," Hawkeye shrugged. "Other than that, it's a normal Thursday."

"A supervillain just attacked Central Park," Kamala said incredulously.

"Like he said," Spider-Man agreed, "normal Thursday."

"Which it shouldn't be for you!" Captain America exclaimed. "You should be cramming for tests and planning parties and going to school events. Normal teenager stuff."

"That's the thing, Ice Cube, I'm not normal and I don't need to study to ace a test and when I go to a party people push me around, acting like I'm some orphaned joke and if I go to a sports game, the players will corner me afterwards and use me as their human punching bag. I do have an extra curricular, though. And I make time for that, but, trust me, I'm not missing out on anything good."

"He's a loser," Kamala confirmed. "An awesome loser, but he's a cerified loser."

"Everyone hates me for some reason," Peter agreed.

"Not everyone," Kamala said, rolling her eyes and giving him a playful punch. "I don't hate you. Your best friend doesn't hate you. That girl - are you two dating? - doesn't seem to hate you? Well, you can never know with her, but if you are dating then I'd assume she likes you. I ship it, btw!"

"Yeah, she's my girlfriend, she's pretty great, super sarcastic."

"Yeah, she gives off that vibe."

"Anyways, back on point," Spider-Man said, turning back to the team. "You know I can defend myself. You've watched me take on entire gangs and come out without a scratch. If this screws with our little friendship alliance thing we have going on, I'll give you a Captain America PSA on being jerks to others. Now that we're on it, props to my marvellous super-friend for surving the Eyebrows of Disappointment."

"Thanks, was that a pun on my name I just heard?"

"Yeah, just roll with it. I haven't made a pun the entire chapter. Ready to meet my Guy in the Chair?"

"Heck yeah!"
