Natasha was ecstatic. But, what could possibly get the Black Widow so worked up? She had a date. Well, it was more of a ‘date’ than a date, but she was still looking forward to it. Why? Well, have you ever met the guy she was ‘going out’ with? Yeah, she thought he was amazing. Not that she could tell him, seeing as he more than likely had a girlfriend and this wasn’t anything more than a ‘date’. But, that didn’t stop her from getting jittery just thinking about it.

Wanda, her surrogate teenage daughter, helped her prepare in record time. Her hair was done in a beautiful French braid until the crown of her head where they had tied it off and curled the rest of her silky red locks. She dressed in a maroon gown that flowed outwards from her waist and cut off just below her knees and a pair of black flats. She was, without a doubt, stunning.

While the duo had been planning on doing a more relaxed second ‘date’, Stark ended up having a banquet to relish in one of their more recent bigger victories against Hydra. He argued that his little parties kept up team morale and Rogers found it hard to disagree. Typically, Spider-Man would show for a few minutes before excusing himself and disappearing. Sometimes, he was seen on the news the next morning, leading the team to believe he prefered patrol to parties. Other times, it became apparent that he had a civilian thing going on the same evening. The night in question, however, was a free night for the arachnid hero. Which meant he was stuck on his second official ‘date’ with the Blackk Widow herself, who had definitely grown attached to him.

Oh boy.

The day prior to their evening engagement was a trainwreck for Peter Parker, the teenager who was masquerading as an adult hero and struggling to keep everything in his alter ego’s life pg. And Peter should know, considering he had been in some very nasty wrecks in the past. It started out with him waking up in a cold sweat after having a disturbing dream involving his newfound superfam and all the ways it would inevitably blow up in his face.

He quickly dressed and grabbed a breakfast that he would be able to scarf down easily while taking the subway, arriving at his learning center with ten minutes to spare. Racing to his locker, he narrowly avoided a run-in with the resident school bully who had taken a particular dislike to him, Eugine “Flash” Thompson. Snatching the correct books from where he had haphazardly tossed them the day before, he was off through the winding halls of his high school in search of his first period class.

Sliding into his seat in Honors English, Ned looked at him with a devilish grin. “Dude, you’re going out with the Black Widow,” he whispered, partly in awe of the fact that he was friend’s with Natasha freaking Romanoff’s boyfriend and partly in awe of how Peter’s Parker Luck always, without fail, got him into crazy situations.

“No!” Peter whined. “It’s all fake until we figure out how to break it to Wanda that it isn’t going to happen.”

“I think she’s into you,” MJ supplied from the desk behind them. “Which is weird because you’re, well, you.”

“Thank you so much for your sympathetic support. You’re amazing friends,” Peter remarked sarcastically.

“We know, now sit still so I can draw your face.”

“...fine.”

After English, he was off to Chemistry, a class he shared with Flash. It wasn’t necessarily fun having the jerk constantly trying to one up him, but he did manage to synthesize his latest web fluid without a hitch. He counted that as a plus. He also rushed to finish his Honors Psychology assignment, which he had next period and had definitely forgotten to do it the night prior when he got caught up Spider-Manning late into the evening. All in all, the class was okay. The day continued on in a similar mundane fashion until Flash decided to corner Peter after school.

Peter groaned. Naturally, the day wouldn be complete without his usual beating. Granted, he wasn’t expecting red tendrils of magic to encompass his bully and yeet him away. Shocked, the teen living a double life turned his double black eyes to see none other than Natasha Romanoff and Wanda Maximoff standing at the edge of the alley, fury flazing in their irises. Peter’s mind raced a million miles a minute. They looked mad. Did they know that he was Spider-Man? Had they figured it out? Were they mad that he had tricked them all into thinking that he was an adult? Were they plotting his murder? He decided that there was only one way this could end: badly.

While he was right, he was also wrong.

“He was beating you to a pulp!” Wanda exclaimed, rushing forward to Peter and checking his bruised face. “Are you okay? Stupid question, of course you aren’t okay!”

“I-I’m f-fine, thank you,” Peter mumbled, the blood rushing to his face. “I jus’ don’t get why you would help me.”

“You might already know this, but I’ll tell you anyways since I’m not as well known,” Wanda explained. “My name is Wanda, also known as the Scarlet Witch. I’m an Avenger; a superhero. Saving people is what I do. What’s your name?”

That solidified it for Peter. They stumbled upon him by chance. They thought he was just a normal teenager. He could work with that. “My name is Peter, uh, Parker. Peter Parker.”

“Well, Peter, Mom and I are about to go get coffee and discuss the gameplan for her date with Spider-Man tonight. Wanna join us?”

“Your mom?”

A/N Okay, I know it's been a hot second since an addition to the "Adulting" arc came out, buuuuut....

~wAiT fOr It~

I write the Adulting stuff at school and I've been swamped with hw recently so I haven't had as much time to goof off writing this while pretending to be busy writing something important. Mainly because I actually had to write something important.

The bright side to the unfortunate break is that I had the best idea in the history of ever last night, which I've brought into this chapter. Naturally, expect more chaos to ensue now that Wanda and Nat both know Peter and Spidey.

Peace✌
