LUNA HATED SEEING HER FRIENDS UPSET.
Whether it was Amelia stress-crying over a test and asking Luna for studying tips, or Quinn sobbing at a sad car commercial because her baby hormones were all over the place, or Artie tearing up whilst telling her that he and Tina broke up because Tina lied to him about having a stutter.
Luna hated it all.
So, that's why, when she saw Kurt looking deeply depressed at his locker one morning, she had to go over and make sure that he was okay.
"Hey, Kurt." Luna greeted as she approached him. Kurt didn't say anything in return, and Luna furrowed her brows."You okay?" She asked him.
"I'm fine." Kurt nodded curtly, his voice was clipped and took the girl beside him off-guard for a second.
"Are you sure?" Luna fidgeted uncomfortably as she asked him this.
Truth be told, Luna had a slight inkling as to why he was looking so upset. She had heard overheard Finn talking about a dinner that he and Kurt had attended with Finn's mom and Kurt's dad the night previously, and she also picked up on the fact that Finn seems to have somewhat bonded over sports at some point during said meal.
Wow,I'm nosier than I thought, Luna thought to herself.
"'Cos I heard Finn talking to Matt about the dinner last night and I thought maybe you were feeling a bit-" She was tentative as she spoke, not wanting to push on any buttons as she did so.
But she did.
"Oh, yesLuna, please do explain to me how I must feel right now." Kurt snapped, cutting her off as she asked him her concerned question.
Luna blinked rapidly as she tried to think of a way to backtrack the conversation."Kurt, that's not what I meant." She promised him."I just know how close you and your dad are, that's all-" Luna recalled all the times that Kurt had spoken to her about his father, how relieved he felt once he finally told Burt that he was gay, and how happy Luna had been for him when she found out how accepting Kurt's father was about everything.
