Not alone anymore

Chapter 48

I really dislike packing and unpacking the car but Regina really needs this getaway right now. I'm so glad she called Dr. Crane because her mind was totally put at ease. Once Regina decided it was ok to go away we looked through all the accommodations together. She decided on the seasonal park model site that is up for sale. She actually really likes this place and it's not far from home. We have a private bedroom with a queen sized bed, air conditioning, a full kitchen, small dining room and living room, plus lots of land so our friends can come by camp every now and then if we decide to buy this. I walk into the bedroom and say. "Ok babe this is the last of the bags. How you doing on the unpacking?"   "So far so good my love".  "Good. How about the kitchen, do we need to do much shopping?"   "Well since we are only here for a few days I think what we brought is fine, at least for now. Plus they have a nice little diner area with some different food options to choose from, and let's not forget the General store has a bunch of stuff".  "That's true. I just like to make sure we have everything we want whenever we want it. It's not like we we're back home and I can run over to Granny's at 2am and make you onion rings".  "Well then I'll have to make sure I order extra before they close for the night".  "Sounds like a plan and I'll be happy to run over and get those for you".  She puts the clothes that she has in her hands into the dresser drawer and she walks over to me.  She puts her arms around my neck and gives me a tender kiss. "My love I have no doubt that you would do anything and everything for me at any time day or night".  She kisses me again and I say. "I definitely would Regina".  We both smile, kiss and hug each other tight. "So babe how about we take a slow stroll around our area and go to the general store to get some firewood so we can have a fire tonight in the pit".  "That sounds fine dear. Do you want to go now?"   "Sure unless you want to something else first".  "I could think of a few things but we could do those later".  She gives me a wink after she speaks.  We go for a little walk towards the General store. There was a nice path that we took. As we walked we went over a cute little bridge that was over a pretty stream. It flowed slowly and it was so clear. I liked it a lot and so did Regina. She took out her phone and took a few pictures. Then we continued walking and we came up to the main area where people gather for recreation and to play in the big game room. They have a few pool tables, a few dart boards, some foosball tables and an air hockey table. Oh not to mention a jukebox. We looked around a bit and saw a sign. It seems they have a country band playing on Friday night. Hopefully Regina will want to go see them. I actually do like country music a lot and it seems that this band plays here every weekend. They wouldn't have them here all the time if the people didn't like them. After we left the Rec. room we went over to the General store. We got 2 bundles of fire wood and I saw they had old time glass bottles of soda. I had to get a few of each. I get orange, root beer and regular cola.  We also get a few snacks that Regina couldn't help but want. I pay for everything and carry as much as I can and we walk back to our, vacation house I guess you could say. I'm not sure what else to call it. When we get back we put the snacks away and I put the firewood in a secure dry place so we can start a fire.  Once we put everything away we relaxed outside on the Adirondack chairs that came with the house. I thought they were actually kinda comfortable. Regina thought they were just ok. She did need a little help getting in and out of the chairs.  About an hour after sitting outside we decided to try out the diner near the General store.  It's close enough to walk to so that's what we did. When we got to the diner I opened the door for my wife and we both were greeted as we walked in. "Hey folks. Welcome to Shady Pines Diner. Please have a seat and we'll be right with you".  We both say thank you and sit at an available table. "This place seems nice dear. Shall we take a look at the menu?"   There are a few menus at the large table we are sitting at.  They actually have a pretty good menu. The waitress comes over and says. "Hey ya'll I'm Lilly. I'll be your waitress. What can I.... Oh gosh as I live and breathe. It's Emma Swan. I haven't seen you since junior year in high school when we dated. How have you been?"   "I'm, Ahh ok Lilly. This is my wife Regina".   "Holy crap you married Mills?  Awesome".  I nod and cough to clear my throat a bit. "It's actually Swan-Mills now".  Regina adds and we smile at each other. "Well congrats and I see there is a little Swan that may hatch soon".  Regina doesn't seem to interested in this conversation anymore so I before she can speak I take hold of her hand. "Yes Lilly we are expecting in a few more months".   "That's great. So have you both decided what you'd like for lunch?"  I say. "Well I think we need a few more minutes".   "Ok. How about we start out with a few drinks?"   I get a ginger ale and Regina gets and ice water with a lemon and a lime. "Ok ladies. Coming right up".  She writes it down and goes to get our drinks.   "So you and Miss Page were in a relationship in high school?"   "It was nothing big. We basically just hung out together really".   "Ok ladies here are your drinks. Have you decided what you like to eat".   Regina and I both got a bbq bacon cheese burger. She got onion rings and I got sweet potato fries. "Ok. It'll just be a few minutes".   I give her a smile and she walks away. "So was it serious between you two?"   "Me and Lilly?  Oh god no. You know your my first Regina. I already said that we just hung out together. We didn't even hold hands at school".   "So you two never fooled around?"   "Why you asking all these questions?"   "I'm just curious dear".  "Ok, well we kissed a little. There may have been a little groping but nothing more. We weren't even together long. Barely 3 months".  "Did you ever want it to go further?"   "Honesty Regina. No I didn't. I wasn't in love with her. We had a few things in common. We both grew up in the system, we liked some of the same music and we both couldn't wait to get out of school".  I say with a little laugh.  "So were there others?"  "What, girls I hung out with?"   "Sure if that's what you want to call it?"  "Nope. I was pretty much a loner all the time".   "Isn't that the truth. You were always a loner Emma".  Lilly says as she brings our food over. I not sure Regina appreciated her butting into our conversation. "Ok here are your burgers. I also brought some extra bbq sauce. Here is some ketchup, can I get you anything else?"  Regina and I both shake our heads no.  "Ok well enjoy. Just give a shout if you do".  We both say thanks and she walks away. I grab the extra bbq sauce that Lilly brought over and put a little more on my bacon burger. "These look good babe. What do ya think?"   "I think they are burgers Emma just burgers".   "Are you ok babe?"   "I'm fine, I just don't like when someone cuts in on our conversation. Especially when I don't when I don't know them".  "I don't think she meant anything by it Regina".   "I don't care Emma. It's extremely rude, and don't use all that bbq sauce. Hand it over".  I laugh a little and give her the bbq sauce. As we eat we talk about me possibly being able to start a fire in the pit tonight. Before we left this morning we saw the weather report and they said there could be some scattered showers in the area we are in. So we'll see what happens.  When we were done eating we asked for the check. I paid it and as we were leaving the small diner we heard Lilly call out and say. "Hey Emma. It was really nice to see you again and good to see you as well Mrs. Swan-Mills".  She was referring to Regina in the last part.  I just gave Lilly a small smile and a nod of my head as Regina and I walked out. We took a nice scenic route back to our home for the next few days. Regina didn't say one word on the way back, which I know means shes pissed. As we are walking up the path to the house I say. "So what's wrong babe?"  She says way to quickly and in a bitchy way. "Nothing Emma. I'm totally fine".  I grab her hand to make her stop walking and I turn her to face me. I take my hand and caress her cheek. I give her a kiss and say. "Tell me why you are pissed babe. Is the jealousy monster creeping up on you?"  I give her a silly smile. "Ok maybe. I just feel like I'm acting like a teenager because someone was talking to my woman".   I smile again with pride. "Oh your woman. I really like that, a lot".   She lightly slaps me on the chest and says.  "Sorry I was feeling jealous my love. I just don't like the thought of you seeing someone else that you were with".   "Regina, babe I was never "with" her. I told you we just hung out for a while".  She just shrugged. "Babe besides did you see the way she looked?  Your older than her and you look fucking hot. You could totally win Miss America while she'd probably only place 4th or 5th in the Miss trailer park contest".  She lets out a big laugh and wrapped her arms my neck to give me a kiss. We hold hands as we walk up the stairs to the house. As I go to open the door she stops me.  "Wait. Were you checking her out Miss Swan?"   "1st of all its Mrs. Swan-Mills to you, and secondly I was definitely not checking her out. I actually never thought she was good looking or even sexy for that matter. I just liked her company. Like I said. We had a few things in common that's it. Nothing ever happened. You are my first, my last, my everything".    "Emma my love did you just quote Barry White?"   She asks with a laugh.  I also laugh and say. "Well I guess I did".  We both started to laugh and we hugged each other tight. Later that night it was to cold and there was a light rain falling so we didn't have a fire in the pit. Instead we ended up watching a movie. "National Treasure",  we've never seen it before and since I absolutely love history, this movie was all about the US history. When the movie ended I was all hyped up. "Wow babe that shit was awesome. We have to get the dvd so we can always watch it".   "Of course my love. Whatever makes you happy". She leans in and we share a kiss. We separate and we smile at each other. We search for something else to watch and find out there is a part 2 to "National Treasure"  so we watched that. It wasn't as good as the 1st but it was still awesome. "Damn babe, can our next trip be to Philadelphia?"   She gives me a kiss and in a sleepy voice she says.  "We can go anywhere you want sweetheart".  She yawns and puts her head on my shoulder. I kiss it and say. "You tired babe?"   "Yes I am dear. I know we really haven't done anything today but the further I get in this pregnancy the more tired I get".   "It's ok babe. It has been a long day. Plus we did go for that long walk earlier and we were outside a lot. All that fresh air makes ya tired. So do you wanna head off to bed now?"  She just gives me a shy smile and nods her head yes. "Ok sweetheart let's go".  I kiss her lips, shut off the tv and we both get up off the couch. I grab our lemonade glasses and whatever trash that needs to be thrown away, Regina shuts off the light and follows me into the kitchen. Once everything was done I lock the front door and we walk into the bedroom. We get ready for bed and then Regina gets in and under the covers. "Bebe would you mind if I open the window a bit?  There is a nice breeze tonight. I promise if it's gets cold I'll close it ok?"   "That sounds fine dear. Go ahead".  So I open the window a little, get into bed, shut off the light and Regina and I snuggle close together. The next morning I woke up before Regina so I decided to jump in the shower and get dressed for the day. It was a little after 10am so when I was all done and dressed I went into the kitchen to gather everything I needed to cook breakfast. I first get most of the fresh fruit we brought and make a nice fruit salad because I know Regina loves it and I put it in the refrigerator. I really want to cook breakfast outside on that big gas grill that came with this vacation home type of camp. I don't know what else to call it. It's on a camp site but it's a small model home. I crack 4 eggs into a bowl and whisk them. I add a little milk and whisk them a bit more. I take out some bacon and I cut up a few potatoes to make home fries. I put them in water and microwave them for a few minutes. I then go outside and fire up the grill and go back into the kitchen while it heats up. I look through the cabinets and find 2 cast iron skillets. I find all the spices I need for home fries and I think I'm ready to start cooking everything. Before I go outside I start making a pot of decaf coffee, grab all the containers I need to the food once it's done and I go wake up my wife. I'm quiet as I walk into the bedroom. I don't want to startle her. I walk over to her side of the bed, kneel down and kiss her lips. "Baby it's time to wake up. I'm about to make breakfast for us outside on the grill and the coffee is almost done".   I see her eyes start to flutter open.  "That's my girl. Wake up babe, I know you and our baby want a good breakfast sweetheart and I'm about to cook one on the outside grill".   I kiss her lips again and say. "Babe you goons get up for breakfast?"  "Yes my love, I'm getting up now. I'll take a quick shower and get dressed ok?"  I kiss her and say. "That's perfectly fine babe. I'll see you soon.
