"I r-really just wanted to help, but instead, I just brought more problems. I knew a peaceful life was never meant for me ever since I killed that knight back at the farm, but I still tried, and now you're roped in my issues. So I'll just leave before the problems get more out of hand." You said, pushing the box of Valis back to her again
- Hestia looks at the box before looking at you. Being the Goddess of family and home, she can feel the fear, pain, and sorrow emanating from you. She now knows the danger of keeping you in her Familia thanks to Hephaestus -
'Come on! Hestia! Decide!' Hestia thought to herself, weighing the choices if she allows you to leave, the Familia can go back to normal, but you'd still be wandering, broken, unstable, then she finally decided
"No! I won't let you leave!" Hestia shouts, dropping the box before hugging you like how she did when you said you wanted to join the Familia
"I"ll just be a problem for you." You sadly reply, while trying to remove her grasp from you body
"I know, but you're the reason I'll keep going." She replies, tightening the hug
'Those words are familiar, where have I heard it?' You thought to yourself, years of hunting down the Ares Familia clouded your memories
- You close your eyes, trying to reminisce when was the last time you heard those words, you see a light, you look to the left and see your mother sitting beside you in the porch -
<Flashback>
- You and your mother are currently watching the sunset, relaxing on the porch, waiting for your dad to return from town. A question lingering at the back of your head, you wanted to ask her, but fear engulfs you. After a couple seconds of silence, you brave yourself and ask her -
"M-mom?" You say, looking at her
"Yes. sweetie?" She asks, still looking at the sunset
"T-the other k-kids say that I'm t-too weak, they said that I'm j-just a p-p-problem for you, is it true? Am I just a problem f-for you?" You nervously ask her, your voice faltering as you say it
"Sweetie, remember this, alright?" She asks, you meekly nod
"For them, you might just be a problem, but for me, you are a reason, a reason for me to keep going, you're the reason I wake up early every day, the reason I cook every morning, afternoon, and night, and you'll always be the reason I'll live this happy and fulfilling life." She answers, her beautiful words, the sincerity of her voice, the emotion behind every letter made you lose the fear, and any negative emotion that clouded you
"Am I your only reason? How about dad?" You ask, she giggles at your question
"I have many other reasons, and of course, it includes the love of my life, but you are my main reason." She says, pointing at you
- The sun has already set, but the warmth wasn't gone. You look at her and see this heartwarming smile -
<End Of Flashback>
- The last thing you see before returning back to the present, You hugged Hestia as tightly as you could, not wanting to let her go, you feel the same warmth from her. You couldn't take it anymore, you cry into her shoulder, all the emotions you kept released in a stream of tears, as your cries turned to sobs, Hestia heard one last thing -
"I'm finally home." You say before passing out, the 9 years of held emotions finally came out overwhelming you, you are physically strong, but emotionally weak
<Timeskip>
- You wake up and see that you're the only one inside the church, you look around and see a note on the table, it's from Bell -
"Hey (Y/N)! Hestia told me you were very exhausted last night, so I went to the dungeon already." Bell's note read
"I guess I should follow him." You say before heading out
- You walked out of the church, going straight to the dungeon, the tears and sadness you poured last night helped you sleep peacefully -
"Where is Bell?" You say as you look at floors 1 to 5
- Not finding Bell on the top floors made you worry, you checked floors 6 to 10 but still didn't see him -
"Shit! Shit! Where could he be!?... Wait! The guild! He might've been done and headed to the guild!" You say, running out of the dungeon
<Timeskip>
"They're on a date?" You say a little bit surprised, but is relieved that Bell didn't go to the lower floors
"Thank you, Ms..." You say
"Misha, Misha Flott." The pink-haired girl introduces herself
"Umm, where did they go to actually?" You ask her
"They went to the tower of Babel, Eina wanted to buy Bell new armor before he heads out to the 7th floor." She explains
"What tower-... Oh! Thank you, Misha!" You say running out of the Guild
'Why does Eina get all the cute and polite ones!' Misha thought to herself with a pout as she looks at you run out of the Guild
- You went to Babel tower to look for Bell and Eina, while inside the tower, you heard some adventurers talking about the new worker at Hephaestus' shops, and that Hephaestus herself was there too. You want to talk to her because you want to clear your name, and for her to stop warning Hestia about you. You went inside one of the shops and to your surprise, see Hestia behind the counter -
"What are you doing here, Goddess?" You ask, Hestia yelps in fear upon hearing your voice
'Crap! First, it was Bell and now (Y/N)! At least he doesn't have a date with him.' Hestia thought to herself
"Is this how you pay for Bell's weapon?" You ask her, Hestia nods before looking down
"Then let me help Goddess!" You say to her, slowly getting mad for seeing her work for another God
"No! It would take too much time from you!" She replies
"I can do it, Goddess! Give me a month and I'll pay your debt to Hephaestus!" You say to her, holding her hand and gripping it tightly
- Hephaestus suddenly comes out of the backroom and sees you, she is already wary of you, and your tight grip on Hestia's hand didn't help with the situation -
"Let her go!" She shouts at you
