something was off

Something was off

Normal at first

But with a simple burst

The secret was out

It lasted for months

As they stayed with the moths

Up where nobody dared tread

At first it was just mistakes

We were missing a biscuit or some cakes

That was what we thought we'd lost

We had just moved in

We didn't know the walls were thin

When we bought our first home

There was someone there

I couldn't distinguish the hair

That i found on the ground

Something was off i knew that

But I thought it would have been a rat or a bat

I didn't think that it would be

A stranger in the house waiting to see

The day we left

Driven mad by theft

Driven out of their home

By the one who sat on the broken throne
