The island's cries of admiration grows louder and louder but Nalani is not finished yet.

Fiery shapes begin to emerge as Nalani calls more fire from the torches and soaring eagles fly around, lighting up the dark sky, staining the black night with beautiful hues of gold, orange and red. It makes her euphoric.

Then she raises her hands and the torches burn high enough to scorch the night clouds; then a beautiful ethereal phoenix rises above her, flapping its wings of flame and singing an old song of fire and blood. Nalani no longer feels like herself, it is almost as if she is no longer in her body as she uses this amount of her gift of flame.

She lets the phoenix soar for a moment more before she claps both her hands up on the phoenix above her and it explodes in a mighty burst of black ash and burning red sparks.

Claps, cries and gasps of awe fill the air again and Nalani delights in the attention and the sensation of using her gift to such an extent. She hasn't pushed her gift this far before. She makes a few more little fiery birds that soar all around before they disappear quickly at her will.

Everyone has risen from where they previously kneeled but all still hold the same admiration and respect. Nalani sees the island and see that they adore her. She loves and finds comfort in that feeling. She knows she is popular but something about having to the backing of the majority of the island fills her heart with joy.

For a moment she simply finds pleasure in the fire and the flames. She always felt power for it but now she feels love for it. She feels every ember crackle under her power and the scorching heat that doesn't burn her even though fire surrounds her. There's something special about her fire. Something magical. Her flames would never darn burn her even if she wasn't coated in a special mixture - she is sure of it.

But there is a danger. If she lost control than people would burn into ashes. Something wicked inside her delights at the thought of purposefully letting go of the control, of letting the entire island burn and then the world. She would happily hand herself over to the flames as a sacrifice and Fennbirn would be no more.

Or she could lose control accidentally if she pushes too far and then she couldn't stop the flames from engulfing the entire valley, including even Nalani herself. It scares her a little that she has the power to do this but then she smirks, what's life without a little danger? She could lit the match and watch the whole world burn ... if she wanted. It would be chaos, magnificence and power. It makes her feel like a goddess, one trapped in bone and sinew.

Then she sees them. So many strangely dressed figures surrounding her circle of fire, making the flames roar higher as they seemingly use their powers. She looks confused. No one else does, they all look solely at her. Can they not see all the dark cloaked figures? Then Nalani looks closer as some of her fire birds circle around them, lighting up their features.

She gasps in shock, they have the same black hair and onyx eyes, their clothes are black as well although their attire varies. Like each are from different eras. They look like her.
