"Do I need to send you the list of stuff and you go get it while I drop the kids off with my momma or do I need to get it and you drop them off?" I asked Benji while I handed kinsley her bottle and she leaned back on me while she held it up drinking from it
"Ima drop em off cause last time I went to the store for you, you got mad cause I brought you the wrong shit"
"Yeah I'll just handle that cause ion need nothing going wrong tonight. Lani already acting like I forgot about her ass"
"How you forgot about her?"
"I don't even know Benji" I sighed while grabbing kinsley's shoes and put them on her feet. I got the right one on with no problem but that left foot, she wanted to kick around "kinsley chill!"
She took the bottle out of her mouth and looked over at Benji before throwing her hands up for him to grab her
"No. Daddy can't save you this time. You need to sit still"
I continued to try to put the shoe on making her cry and Benji sucked his teeth once I finally put it on and he picked her up
"That's exactly why she act the way she do now, cause of you!"
"This my babygirl whatchu expect"
"Whatever Dimitri" I rolled my eyes and looked over at Kyran who sat on his butt on the floor watching tv and Hendrix was asleep on the other chair "she need to be like her brothers"
Benji stuck up his middle finger and walked off with kinsley as the door opened. Meechie walked in and I smiled
"Uncle Meesh!"
Kyran looked back at Meechie and smiled before crawling over to him and pulled himself up using Meechie's legs so Meechie eventually picked him up
"Why you look so happy today?" I asked Meechie and he shrugged while walking over to the chair and sat down beside me
"I look happy?"
"Yeah. You and MJ got back together?"
"Nah. And you ain gotta ask nomo. I'm good off her"
"Oh....Well whatever y'all got going on, I just wish y'all the best.. especially you Meechie. You deserve the world"
"I tried to wait for her but I can't nomo. I'm getting too grown for this shit"
I nodded as Meechie sat Kyran down on his lap
"And you got every reason to feel like that. MJ is my friend but you my brother too and ima look out for you the same way you've looked out for me. And if Mary can't give you what you want then you just gotta find you someone who can. Like you said you too grown"
"All jokes aside I ain ever thought I would make it this far in life so now that I did, it's like a nigga done playing games... well ima still play a couple games cause ima goofy ass nigga, but as far as relationships and shit, I want somebody serious and Mary wasn't ever serious. And ima good ass nigga, too good of a nigga"
I nodded, agreeing with him. Even though shy was like a big brother to me as well, my bond with Meechie was different ever since the beginning. I was the one person he could confide in and actually be vulnerable with even if it's for a few seconds and it's always been the same for me too. And I want him to be happy because even though Meechie is goofy as hell and can be an asshole most of the time, he loves just as hard and he's so genuine. He looks out for the people he loves, he's always made sure I was straight and he even walked me down the isle when my dad backed out at the last minute so yes, MJ is my friend and I may have liked him and MJ together but if she's not giving him what he deserves then oh well
