Over the past 2 days benji barely said a word meanwhile serenity's emotions were all over the place and I was so heartbroken for them.
"Trust me this isn't something you can or will get over, but it'll get easier as the days go by" I could hear Yasmine say to serenity, who's been staying over here with us while my mom had Hendrix and the twins for me
I went downstairs and outside to the back seeing benji just sitting outside so I walked over and sat down beside him, hearing him let out a sigh
"I'm not gonna force you to talk... I'm just right here until you ready. Ima sit right here..."
I could hear car doors slam closed all the way in the front so I stood up
"Pause real quick and then I'll be back" I told him and he slightly chuckled while I jogged around to the front seeing it was Meechie, shy who carried Brielle, Ari and Bri
"Im in the back with benji" I told them, catching their attention so the stopped heading towards the door and followed me around back
"Where jr?"
"Yo momma got him for the night" bri answered
We went around to the back and benji was still sitting there so I sat back down beside him
"My boy.. you Ight?" Meechie asked benji while they dapped him up and he nodded
"He still don't wanna talk" I informed them
"Where serenity at?"
"Upstairs with my sister"
"Bet. Lemme go bother her real quick" Meechie said as he headed into the house and so did everybody else, leaving just me and benji again
"You always say this to me so now ima say it to you... what do I have to do to make you smile. I know I can't do much right now because everybody's hurting but I need you to smile or something Dimitri"
I laid my head on his shoulder and grabbed his hand
"My sister birthday coming up Thursday and my momma was excited. I talk to her that morning and she was talkin bout the stuff she already brought and some more stuff she was gone get her today and now she ain even here nomo. Shit.. the crazy part is she was telling me how proud she was of me leaving the streets alone, how much she love you and our kids. She told me what I always wanted to hear from her and that was our last conversation and I'm satisfied with that"
"Well on the bright side, you got to make her proud before she died"
It then grew quiet again and we just sat there until just Meechie and shy came back outside
"You ready to talk now?" Shy asked benji who just shrugged it off and Meechie pulled a lighter out of his pocket while grabbing the blunt from behind his ear, lighting it up
"You wanna smoke?" He asked before hitting it and passed it to benji
"Bri and Ari still upstairs with serenity and Yasmine?" I asked and Meechie nodded
"Yeah. We got kicked out the room and they took Brielle too"
"What did you do?"
"Why I gotta do some?"
"Cause you're you"
"I ain do nothin. I got her to laugh though. They just up there talkin bout niggas and shit"
"What kinda niggas?" I asked, lifting my head up off of benji and he looked over at me
"My boy said chill before he have to beatcho ass" shy said to me and I rolled my eyes
