"You can't!" Jo yelled. "She's your best friend, you can't. Look Meg, you've kept this secret your whole life, don't ruin it now. You are so close, just marry John, and it will play out."

"No! I don't want to hide it anymore. I love her, and I am going to tell her," she called. "I just want to tell her."

"What if she doesn't understand? She'll run and tell someone and they'll have you killed!" Jo cried.

"I trust that she won't." Meg crossed her arms over her chest, staring back at her sister. Jo held her gaze, neither of them would look away.

"Who aren't we trusting," a voice came behind them. Meg felt a lump form in her throat. "Do I have to beat someone up?"

"No! No! It's nothing, just talking about Aunt March," Meg laughed. "And please don't beat her up, I think she won't be able to handle that." Y/n smiled at her, and walked over to them.

"Good day isn't it?" she smiled. Jo nodded. "So how have you guys been?"

"Alright," Jo smiled. "Meg?"

"I've been alright. I think I might go for a walk, Y/n would you like to come?" Meg smiled, Y/n nodded. Once they were outside of the house, Meg linked arms with her friend. They walked for a while before either of them said anything. "I think I have something to tell you."

"You think? Meg, you are smart no?" Y/n smiled, Meg could get lost in her eyes, in fact she wanted to. "Have you went away just then? Everything okay?" Meg looked away, and they kept on walking. The sun was slightly setting, and Y/n considered telling her it was getting late. She knew how much Meg liked the outside.

"Y/n?"

"Meg."

"I think I love you," she looked down at first, before looking back up. "And not like friends. I know, it's silly, maybe it's just that we are so close, and I am supposed to be marrying John, but I wanted to marry you, and be with you and-" she was cut off, by a pair of lips. It took her a second to register what was happening. She wrapped her arms around the taller girls neck, Y/n's hands found her waist.

Y/n pulled away first, resting her forehead against her best friends. "Dear God, Meg do you ramble about everything?"

"Only when I'm nervous," she said breathlessly. "God, please do that again." Y/n leaned in, capturing her lips again.
