Prompt: we all know the song. In a world where the students have the ability to hear their soulmates, Hermione hears you..

"Jesus Christ how many times are you gonna play that song," Jake laughed, punching her arm.

"It's a good song, don't diss it because you don't like it," Y/n laughed back, turning the radio up. Maybe she had listened to it sixty times tonight, so what. In a perfect world, everybody would listen to it sixty times just as she had, but in her world, only she would do something like that.

She just liked the vibe it gave off, maybe she didn't love anybody (yet) and maybe she was never in a relationship, but the song still had a place in her heart. And maybe she sounded like a donkey when she sang, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to stop screaming it at the top of her lungs, like the passive aggressive person she was- being american and all- .

Jake had offered to take his best friend out for a late drive, and Y/n had a lot of stress building up so she was glad he had offered. She wasn't able to get her license- well she was too lazy to study for the test really- she loved late night rides. It was pure bliss, a moment she could live in for just a second, because in the car, late at night, with the rain pouring down, screaming her favorite song at the top of her lungs- she was invisible, there was no way anybody would've been able to convince her otherwise, not even her best friend.

They would talk about deep things, life, crushes, and school, they would find themselves relaxed, and normally never wanting the night to end. Jake enjoyed them just as much as Y/n even if that meant he had to endure listening to the same song on repeat.

But somewhere far off... someone else was hearing it on repeat as well.

"Is she listening to it again," Harry asked, nudging his best friends arm.

"Merlins, I know it word for word by now, she keep repeating it," she smiled. She would admit to Harry that she didn't mind it, she was growing to like it. Because in this world they could hear their soulmates. Hermione was destined to finding hers, her music taste had grabbed Hermione's attention.

She didn't need to see her to realize that the girl she was listening to this whole time, might just be the love of her life.

"How many is that today?" Ron asked, looking at Harry.

"At least sixty-two," Harry laughed, Hermione just buried her head deeper into the book, the song taking over mind. It was nearly sixty-two, right now it was at fifty-seven, yes she had been counting. She was mesmerized by the lyrics, her thoughts whisking her away, she would much rather be around the mystery person, than these two daft monkeys.

And then, the song hit it's end...

all the things that you do....

And then it started over again. Hermione couldn't help but smile, at least there was persistence.
