Kesey's POV

"Will you go out with me?"

I never would have thought those six words would have changed my life the way they did. I'm still deciding whether they were a good thing or a bad thing. . .

Greg sat beside me looking a bit nervous, I mean who wouldn't be. He just asked me out and so far all I've done was sit and stare. "Um. . .since when did you feel like this, Greg?" I asked him, feeling a bit confused. I mean anyone would be. A guy you recently just met, asked you out, but you just barely know each other. Weird much?

Greg looked down at his lap, his cheeks turning a soft shade of pink. He cleared his throat before answering. "Uh, well. When I first met you, I kinda always thought you were pretty. I-I mean you're still pretty it's just, before. . and now. . " Greg stopped talking and just put his face in his hands, groaning quietly in what I'm assuming is embarrassment.

I looked at him and giggled. I know it seemed mean, the poor guy was trying to pour his heart out to me and I sat there laughing. But I had to admit, he was adorable while doing it. Deciding to put him out of his misery, I replied. "Greg?" I spoke, getting his attention. "You're really nice and I'm willing to give this a try, but we're going to have to do this my way.'' I paused to laugh, "Also known as my parents way. If you want to ask me out, you have to ask my parents if its cool with them first."

As soon as I said parents, Greg seemed to shrink back, but then he straightened out. "If that's what it takes for me and you to get to know each other. Then yes, I'll ask your parents for their approval." He spoke with confidence and self-assurance.

I grinned, already liking his attitude. Most guys would chicken out as soon as I mentioned meeting my parents before we're even an item yet, but the few that were brave enough usually ended up not wanting to stick around afterwards. I grinned at Greg, "Okay then. I'll call them and we'll set up a meet up time for all of us to talk." I questioned, tilting my head slightly to the side while looking at Greg.

He smiled back tentatively at me, "Okay, I can do everyday except Sunday." His smile intensified, "I'm going to Church with my family." He replied. I beamed, a guy that goes to church, my parents will definitely like him.

I nodded in understanding, "Okay, wanna watch a movie? I've been itching to watch Annie since it came out." I told him while getting up to grab the movie from he movie rack, next to the TV.

Greg simply agreed to watch the movie, and we got settled on the couch together enjoying the beginning of Annie.

~ Fast Foward To The Parent Meeting ~

"Mr. And Mrs. Jean-Baptise, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Greg Matthews." Greg introduced himself to my parents and I couldn't help but secretly smile to myself. He sounded so sure of himself, even though just a few minutes before he was sweating buckets.

My mother smiled at him. "The pleasure is all ours, Greg. I've heard some good things about you young man." My mom told him. My father had yet to say anything but that was only because he was analyzing Greg, I could tell, he had his 'I'm judging you' face on.

After the introductions were done we all sat down to enjoy the meal. "Greg, what exactly do you do. As in your career/ profeession?" My father asked, after a few minutes of light conversation.

Greg cleared his throat. "Well I'm the owner of my own branch of stores. Clothing stores to be exact." He replied, looking a bit intimadated.

My father nodded, "Hmm, how's the business going?" He asked. Greg smiled.

"It's going very well, we've managed to increase our overall total income by 15%. Also, our sales have increased very much in popularity. Especially the sports, seeing as basketball season is amung us. A lot of players are looking for equitment." He told my father, as soon as he started to talk about his business his whole face lit up. I could tell he was passionate about what he did, and my father was also impressed. So, while they conversed over business related topic, my mom and I talked about the latest fashion trends and the events happening on the news.

After the dinner, Greg and I were on our way back to the car when I spoke. "I really think my parents like you. You're in for the win! " I laughed after saying that.

Greg laughed with me, "Thank goodness, I would me really dissapointed if I didn't get there approval." As he said this we had reached the car and he turned to me. He reached for my hand and pulled me closer, looking deep into my eyes. There was a strange emotion swimming in his eyes, but I couldn't figure out what they were.

"I really like you Kesley, I really do. " He told me. I didn't know how to respond so I just smiled, thankfully he returned my smile and opened the car door that I was previously leaning on.

"For you, my sweet." He spoke in a faux British accent, while bowing . I couldn't help but laugh as I slid into the car. After he closed the door I couldn't help but feel like this would be the beginnings of a beautiful relationship.

Boy was I wrong about that.
