In The Spotlight

{ Chapter 11 }

Xavier's POV

I had been at Kesley's house for two days and a half. We had fun, ate donuts, had pillow fights, ordered pizza. You known, normal stuff. But throughout my stay in couldn't help but notice that Tara didn't call, not even once, nor did she ever showed up. Or at least there were no signs that she did.

"OK, do you want normal fries or curly fries? " Kelsey called out to me from the kitchen, as she ordered lunch for us.

"Can I have both? "I replied. What? A guy likes variety.

I just heard Kelsey laughing in the kitchen. I wonder how she deals with Tara leaving so much, for so long. She must get so lonely.

Suddenly, I was gifted with an amazing idea. Calling out to Kesley. "Hey, do you want to go somewhere?"

Kesley walks into the living room, sitting next to me on the couch. "Depends, where are we going? " She asked looking at me curiously.

"On an adventure!" I replied in the tune they use in that scene in Dora.

She laughed, "No, but seriously, where? "

I sat back from my previous position. "To my cabin, in the woods. " I looked at her to see a reaction. "I mean I know you have a bunch of meetings this Friday, but that's 3 days away. Also, I was planning on taking a vacation anyway. "

She looked like she was thinking about it. "Hmm, it does sound nice. Will it be just us? " She asked.

I nodded,"Yeah, unless you want to invite someone." I replied.

She nodded slowly. "Okay. . .I'll think about it, but for now let's go eat that pizza! " She exclaimed.

I chuckled slightly, "Let us! " I replied walking behind her into the dinning room.

"OK, so I have all my stuff packed, now all I need is to find my charger... "Kelsey mumbled to herself as she looked through her room.

I leaned against her door frame. "Need help? "

She looked up, startled. "Hug? Oh, no I'm fine." She replied before continuing to look for her charger.

I stood there for a while before turning around and walking out the room. I stood in the kitchen looking for something to eat when my phone rang.

If I was your boyfriend I'd never let you go, keep you on my arm girl, never let you—

I picked it up. "Hello? "

"Guess who's in town! " The voice of my best friend rang through the phone.

"Greg, man! Long time no talk, how have you been? " I replied, grinning from ear to ear. Greg has been my best friend since grade eight, he was a loner back then, puberty hadn't hit him yet, so he was a bit of a nerdy looking boy. He grew out of it though.

I heard him laugh over the phone. "Haha, man it's been good. Living life the way I want, seeing the world. But now I'm about to come and see you. " He excalmied.

I was extremly happy, except I wasn't home and I was leaving soon. "Oh, man... This is kind of a bad time. I'm not home, and I'm leaving in a couple of hours." I frowned, Greg was like a brother to me. He was another brother basically. I really did want to see him.

I heard him sigh through the line, "Oh, that's cool. I guess, maybe another time? " He tried to hide it but I could hear his disappointment through the phone.

"OK man you know what? I'll just ask my friend if it's cool for you to come over and if it's cool with her, I'll give you the address." I spoke, not wanting to miss a chance to see my childhood friend for the first time in years.

"Yeah! That's cool, I'll wait." He sounded a lot happier than before. "Wait? Her? "

I laughed. "I'll call you back in ten." We exchanged goodbyes, and hung up the phone.

A/N: Heyyy guys! I'm back and I've tried to keep with my promise to update 4/5 chapters before exams.....not going that well but I'll try to update at least twice next week cause that's my last week of winter break and probs the last you'll see of me until February lool but anyway I hope you enjoyed this chapter. It's a bit of a filler but there will be more action in the next chapter I swear,!!!

Anyway I hope you had a GREAT Christmas even though I'm like 3 days late lol but yeaaaa a a bye.
