AFTER A LONG WEEK, it's now Friday and we're all heading to Teagan and Caspian's house for the weekend.
It feels weird. I've only known these people for a little less than a month and yet, it feels as though I've known them my whole life. They're all so welcoming. Well, I still haven't had the chance to talk to Blaise but we'll get to that at some point. He's gonna like me whether he wants to or not.
Vaughn and I are in his car while the others have split into Sawyer, Caspian, and Xavier's cars. Since our date on Saturday, Vaughn has been clingy. And I mean really clingy. Helping me carry my books from class to class, even though I don't need it, protectively placing his hand on the small of my back when we're walking somewhere, or just needing to have some part of him touching me at all times. Like now, for instance.
We've been in the car for about half an hour and since getting in, he hasn't dropped his grip from my thigh. I mean, I don't mind it. He's so cute when he gets protective.
Most people don't get to see this side of Vaughn, so I feel privileged. Being able to see this sweet and sensitive guy who loves to cuddle all the time when most people would describe him as someone who hardly shows any emotion towards anyone other than his friends, or his sister.
And I never would have dreamed of falling into that category, someone he trusts enough to show the real him. He's become one of the people in my life that I can see being a more permanent member the more time goes on.
Once we get to the Campbell's, we decide to relax and enjoy our night before the party tomorrow. It's going to be huge. Tea told me that some of their old childhood friends have been invited and those people have invited their friends.
I've already informed her that I'm not going to be cleaning up if someone pukes all over the floor.
My thoughts are pushed away when I feel Vaughn's already tight grip wrap around my thigh even more. I turn my head to see that he has a smug grin on his face, I raise my eyebrow questioningly.
"What are you thinking about?" He questions with a joking tone.
"Just how cute you are." His jaw drops in mock offence, making me giggle.
"I'm not cute." He says, the last word coming out as if it were poison. "I'm hot."
"I mean, sure. You are hot." Vaughn glances over at me with a smirk, I give him a bored look before continuing. "But, it doesn't mean that I still don't find you cute. And just so you know, I love that you're a cuddler."
"I just like knowing you're there." He defends himself, I laugh silently and shake my head.
"You excited for tomorrow?" I ask, to which he shrugs.
"I mean, they do this every year. Obviously, when we were younger it was apple juice and popcorn, and I highly doubt that tomorrow night is gonna have those same condiments." I make a noise in agreement. "At least this year I'll have you."
