"Genuinely can't believe we were all free today," Jean said, shoving his hands in his pockets.

It was a cold Sunday evening and Y/N, Sasha, Jean, and Connie were standing in line for movie tickets to Words of Love. It was a love story about an author who was currently writing a romance novel and she ends up meeting a man exactly like her lead character's romantic interest. The man in real life was apparently still from the earlier chapters and she becomes frantic trying to stop some horrible accident she'd written for him as she falls in love with him.

Of course, no one but Sasha wanted to see this movie. But it was her turn to pick what they got to do while hanging out.

Y/N hadn't had any one-on-one time with Jean since their outing started and she could tell he was avoiding her. She did want to have a conversation about his little interruption a few nights ago, but she knew it wouldn't lead anywhere. If their brief interaction after the incident said anything, Jean wouldn't be upfront with whatever was bothering him.

Sasha bounced up and down excitedly latched on to Connie's arm listing off all the snacks she wanted to get before the movie started. Y/N decided to stick to her phone amid the awkwardness between her and Jean.

BITCH-BOY
hey I found time to speak to Mikasa earlier.
can you call me later?

Y/N giggled quietly at Eren's contact name. She still hadn't changed it from what Viviana thought was fitting months ago.

Y/N
I can, let me call you first though.

"What are you smiling about over there, Y/N?" Sasha joked, poking lightly at her side.

Y/N quickly shoved her phone in her pocket, "Viviana said something funny..." Her excuse was flimsy but she thought it would work.

"Oh, guys I bet it has something to do with that tall brunette guy she wants to fuck," Jean laughed, but there was a hidden emotion behind his words.

Y/N couldn't help but notice it was the first time he mentioned her while they've been together. It still made her mad that the first thing he said had something to do with Eren though. "It was just Viviana," she said softly.

"Really? Because I could always ask the guy about you. I think we share one or two classes." Jean smirked coldly at Y/N, tilting his head to the side.

"What is with you? It was just Viviana, trust me."   Y/N couldn't help the anger bubbling up and out of her throat. Whatever argument Jean was trying to incite was absolutely childish.

"Trust you?" He sneered at her.

Silence fell over the entire group. Sasha and Connie glanced back and forth between Y/N and Jean with confusion. Jean held a look of unwavering anger on his face and Y/N was frozen realizing how angrily he'd spoken to her.

"I have no idea what's goi—" Sasha was cut off by the man in the ticket booth asking them to step forward and she rushed to go purchase their tickets.

"You guys need to take a chill pill. Why would you agree to hang out just to fight?" Connie asked, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

Y/N took a deep breath before turning to Connie but she could still feel Jean's glare piercing into the side of her head. "I didn't know we had anything fight about!" she argued.

"Whatever," Jean said looking towards Sasha who was excitedly waving four tickets and a large bag of gummies around, "Let's just have fun."

Every bone in Y/N's body wanted to call Jean back and have him explain himself or hop into a taxi to Viviana's or Eren's apartment, but Sasha was excited about today.

Words of Love actually turned out to be a damn good movie. The twist was the author realizing she was a side character in her own story that she created to drive the main character's love interest to his horrible accident. It was heart-breaking watching her desperately try to cut him out of her life to no avail.

Y/N and Sasha walked out of the theater crying and babbling about the best parts of the movie while they clung to each other's arms.

Connie wrapped his arms around both of the girls, letting all of their tears fall on his sweater. Jean occupied himself on his phone. He regretted creating such animosity between him and Y/N. The two hour long movie gave him time to realize that.

Usually when they would go to the movies, Jean would always sit next to Y/N and they would whisper jokes about every detail they noticed. This time they didn't even sit next to each other. Jean couldn't stop berating himself for being such an ass out of nowhere. He thought of himself as Y/N's unlikely protector or the person she could always fall back on. While that may be really conceited of him, he felt awful for failing his duties.

"Yo, Jean," Connie yelled. Sasha and Y/N had gained most of their composure back, but neither seemed to want to leave Connie's arms. "Sasha and I are going out to eat after this, you two wanna tag along?"

Y/N stiffened at his question. She wanted time to talk to Eren, but not if that meant spending any alone time with Jean. His attitude had come out of nowhere, and she couldn't figure out why he let himself become so undeniably jealous over a stranger.

"I-I need to study tonight," Y/N sniffled, burying her head in Connie's chest.

Jean sighed. Y/N wasn't making eye contact with him, he knew he had fucked up worse than he'd suspected. "I'll ride home with you." He tried to offer her a comforting smile.

Y/N let go of Connie and took a step toward Jean, "I'm really not in the mood to get yelled at over nothing in the back of a taxi." Her voice was low and steady despite the tears she'd just shed.

Y/N figured that because Jean was being so childish, she could allow herself to do the same. She tapped into every negative emotion she was feeling, most of which came from the heartbreaking movie she just watched.

"Y/N, I promise we can just ride in silence. I'm s—"

"No, separate taxis."

Y/N stood nervously in front of apartment 2B. She was realizing she had a problem with running to the nearest person who she knew would give her comfort, sexual or otherwise.

Eren swung the door open and Y/N couldn't help but look at his body.

He was wearing gray sweatpants that hung loosely around his hips, giving ample view of his v-line, but somehow leaving everything else to the imagination. His torso was more muscular than what Y/N remembered from high school. His biceps looked perfect to hold on to while he was slowly sliding his di—

I really have a problem with being upset and horny at the same time, Y/N thought to herself when she remembered to breathe.

"I was expecting a phone call, but this is way more exciting," he admitting, grinning sinfully as he studied Y/N's body the same way she was.

"I'm sorry to show up like this, I ju—"

"Hey, wait," he walked over to cup Y/N's face softly, "no, Y/N, were you crying?"
