CHARMS WAS ONE OF HER MOST UTTER favorite classes. Especially with the fact that she could sit alone. The Marauders were also in this class, but thankfully they were across the classroom. Professor Flitwick was revising the disarming charm with everyone. She was moving her quill back and forth against the table. Her charms textbook was flipped to the disarming page. Her hand had her head propped on so she could still seem like she was paying attention."Ms. Parten." Professor Flitwick called her from above the books. Siobhán jumped as his voice had startled her. She sat up straight and gripped onto her wand.
"Care to show the class the disarming charm?" he raised an eyebrow as she stood up. In front of her was a dummy that had a wand in its metallic hand. She was tasked to disarm it.
She breathed in deeply and raised her wand. Her expression was unreadable, but you could tell she was focused. Her wand moved into a curved line and then into a swirl.
"Expelliarmus!"
The wand that was held in the metallic dummy's hand was now flung across the room. Professor Flitwick nodded satisfied.
"You may go back to your seat." she walked quickly back to her seat. Some students were still gazing at her as she sat down. She raised her eyebrows at them and they turned away quickly.
Siobhán laid back against her chair. Being in a classroom with half of the annoying Gryffindors was truly a huge task. Professor Flitwick asked other students to perform the same task that was given to her.
Every time someone came up to do the disarming charm she tried to fight back the smile that was threatening to reveal itself. Most students were able to do it and some weren't so fortunate as to succeed. Siobhán Parten considered herself quite good at charms. After all, she was in the top three of the class.
"James Potter." she perked her head up at the name. Professor Flitwick was gazing at James who was laughing at something. He immediately shut up once he heard the whole classroom go quiet.
"Um, yes professor?" he gazed slowly up at Professor Flitwick. The professor seemed extremely disappointed in James, but it was no surprise that he was getting in trouble.
"Care to explain to the class what's so amusing?" James smirked slightly and stood up. Siobhán rolled her eyes as she knew he was about to act like a complete idiot, per usual.
"Dear Sirius here has told me that Severus Snape has been wearing the same underwear for a week. Apparently, he doesn't wash his underwear just like his hair." he laughed as the whole class started whispering about it.
Lily Evans's scowl was heard from the whispers of the students. She certainly was displeased with Jame's comment of Snape. Severus and Lily were still the best of friends. Despite him being a Slytherin, she was very fond of him. Everyone was certainly surprised that he hadn't called muggles the m slur in front of her.
The company that she hanged out with wasn't the best, but Siobhán couldn't have a say on that. She would enjoy the company of Leonardo Nott. Yet, Leonardo Nott was nothing like Severus Snape and the rest of those Slytherins who were raised in prejudiced ways.
"Mr. Potter, maybe it'd suit you to sit somewhere that wouldn't distract you." he gazed around the classroom to find an empty seat next to Siobhán.
She clasped her hands together and prayed that he wouldn't put Potter next to her. It would be nightmarish to sit next to him in charms class. He would bug her more than anyone else in the room. Sirius seemed more tolerable, but they were still part of the same cliche.
"Where do I move to Professor?" James was grabbing his stuff while the Professor smiled.
"Next to Ms. Parten," he said softly. James walked slowly to the seat next to her. He dragged the chair out and plopped into it. Siobhán sighed as he placed his things on the desk.
