Chapter 6: Corneria

5 hours passed, and I fell asleep in the infirmary room since I was still depressed and upset after losing Audrey, my mother that I fully love. In my dream, I was in a middle of darkness and I look around and it was pitch black until I hear Audrey's voice saying "Stan, where are you..." I noticed and shouted at mom many times to find her. Then, I heard Salen's laughter and the sound of his gun going off.

I started crying on my knees as I kept hearing the laughter and the gunshot that killed my mother.
I woke up in a heartbeat. I noticed tears going down my cheeks and I might've cried in my sleep. I wiped them off my face and tried to calm down. Then an anthro soldier came in and gave a can of Sprite.

I took a few sips and felt more calm. "So kid um we have a guardian that can take you in and I'm sorry about what happened. You will be okay." I was unable to say anything since I'm starting to have some fear of what I encountered. He puts his hand on my shoulder and tries to comfort me. He took me to the hangar and there was someone waiting for me.

"Hey buddy, you must be Stan. Don't worry you are in my hands." I was really shy at first but I started to trust him. He brought his hand out and I started to walk close to and grabbed his hand. My new guardian is James McCloud.

A mercenary Ace pilot of a team called Starfox. He showed me his Arwing spaceship and liked the way it looked. He lifted me up and put me in the passenger seat. "Have you ever gone to space before?" "No, I never did before." James smiled and turned on the ignition and closed the canopy. The arwing launches out of Zon's atmosphere and makes it into space. I was amazed when I saw Zon as a huge sphere. "Amazing isn't it?" James asked. I was interested to see dots and a couple of moons close to Zon. "It really is...

James smiled and asked, "I see you are interested in space right?"
"Yes I had interest in life and adventuring other places in space James."

"Please call me dad, if you are okay it." I wasn't sure of calling him dad yet since I just meant him. After a few hours we landed onto a different planet called Corneria. "We're here buddy!"  James shouted. I woke up from my nap and James helped me climb out of the arwing. Then, we walked from the hanger to James' house. After we went inside there was a Fox playing video games in the living room.

He is kinda my age but a little older than me. "Hey Fox I'm back!" James shouted. "Hey dad!" When Fox hugged his father, he got confused when he noticed me right behind James. "Dad, who is that?" Fox asked. "Oh this is new brother Stan." James pushed me from behind him to meet my new big bro. Fox noticed I was nervous but he offered me a fist bump. I slowly did it and started to feel less feared.

Fox then showed me to his room and I put my stuff down for a sec. "It looks nice huh? Me and you have to share this room but I'll let you sleep on the top bunk" Fox says.  "Yeah thanks." I replied. Then I had interest in his toy spaceships that he has on his dresser. "Hey, these are cool."

I picked up one of them and examined it. Fox came to me and asked, "Thank you, which one do you like?"  I said, "I mostly like the one that your father flies."
         "I like that one too, Stan. I dream of flying an arwing like my dad someday."
      "That's cool" , I replied. Later on, I started unpacking my clothes and putting them away in the drawers that Fox offered me to put them in. Then, after I finished unpacking, we played a game of Monopoly on the floor. I rolled the dice and moved my token and was able to buy boardwalk first. Fox then rolls and passes and lands on Baltic avenue.                         
     "I'll buy that property." Fox pays while I give him the deed. James knocked on the door and told us that dinner was ready. I was starting to feel comfortable being with them as a family but sometimes I still mourn of Audrey's death. James served us a plate which is my favorite kind of dish with some A.1 steak sauce. I poured some steak sauce on mine and gave the sauce to Fox.

Then, my bad memory floated back in my mind when I accidentally thought about my mother getting killed in cold blood. I barely ate some steak but I just looked down and closed my eyes when my nightmare was starting to crumble my emotions. I was in deep thought that I noticed I was around darkness hearing Audrey screaming and crying. I breathe heavily when I hear the gunshot sound and I run for my life when I hold a gun to defend myself from harm. Just when I heard James calling that I snapped out of it. "Stan, Stan, are you alright?" James asked.

I stutter a little and try to speak. "I... I... a...am alright..." James was still concerned since he was told of what happened to me. After dinner was over, I helped James pick up the plates since I always do that for Audrey. I came back to Fox's room and decided to get some sleep already since I'm just emotional to the point that I should sleep.

The next morning, I was sleeping in since I enjoy extra sleep. I got up and took a shower and got dressed to start my day. Since James had to go to outer space to patrol. We went to the park to play with Fox's friends. I meant them and one of them is Falco Lombardi. He's a blue bird and much of a bird Brain in my opinion. And the other friend is Slippy Toad. He's good at building and has interest in being a mechanic and very smart as Fox's age. 

We played basketball for a while. I decided to stop playing for a bit since I'm pretty short at playing basketball. I laid on the grass until someone stood right behind me. I stood up and noticed it was a gray wolf. He gave a scary smirk that gave me fear. His name was Wolf O'Donnell, he's a middle Schooler, a rival to Fox and a real asshole. "Well I didn't know Fox has a human brother." I didn't say a word and was about to walk away. Wolf grabbed me by the arm. "What's the rush no-fur? I just want to meet you." I felt his strong grip and couldn't break free from it. "I'm Stanton if you want to know." I jerked my arm from his grip. Wolf then pushed me and I fell on the grass. "Listen No-fur! Why don't you just fucking respect me?"

I got up and walked away and came to me and pushed me again. "Oh I see, you are just trying piss me off No-fur? Get up and see what happens." I got up one more time and I punched him in the muzzle. Wolf fell on his back and covered his nose. Wolf saw blood on his hand and got up and ran after me. I started to run for my life around the park and have a bad disadvantage since Wolves run faster than humans do.
He tackled me and grabbed hold of me in a headlock. I screamed very loudly in fear. Wolf tries to restrain me. I kept screaming to the point that Falco's father came and grabbed and pulled Wolf off of me. He threw Wolf into the grass. "Hey what were you doing to him!" Mr. Lombardi shouted. Wolf ran off and I was covering my head with my arms and scared shitless. "You alright Stan?" I was shaking and didn't want to move. Mr. Lombardi carried me back to the others.

Later on. We decided to go to Falco's house since Fox wanted to try to play Falco's new game on his NES system. They played The New Legend of Zelda game together while I played on my DS on the couch while Slippy did a 300 jigsaw puzzle in the kitchen.
"Come on, quit cheating Falco." Fox says. Falco then said, "I'm not cheating Fox. You're just upset Because I'm winning." Falco replied.
During the night, James picked us up and took Me and Fox home. I was tired and so was Fox since we did have fun playing with his friends. I started to like my new life but I still miss my mother.
