After I got ready, my parents, Gilinsky, Sam and I all met at Applebees at 3o'clock. I was nervous for this lunch, I didn't know what to expect.

I pulled into the parking lot with Genesis and I already saw Sam there waiting. I walked over and gave him a hug. He pecked me on the lips. I immediately pulled away because I didn't want Genesis to see me kiss Sam.

"Sorry for freaking out on the phone earlier. Here, I got you this." He took out a box and opened it for me.

"Is that a diamond necklace?" I ask in shock.

"Just for you." He said with a smirk.

"Thank you so much!" I say and give him a hug.

"Love you." He said to me.

At first I hesitated and pulled away.

"Aren't you going to say I love you too?" He asked sternly. I just didn't know. I mean I like Sam, but I'm not so sure if I was in love with him. Luckily, before I could say anything back Gilinsky showed up.

"Sup man." He said to Sam.

"Hey Lacey." He said while picking up Genesis. Of course, she was thrilled to see him. This is going to take some time getting used too. My parents showed up and the tension grew strong.

"Hi I'm Mariah, Lacey's mom." She said while shaking Sam's hand.

"I'm Sam nice to meet you ma'am." He was extremely polite.

"It's nice to meet you too. This is my husband Richard." My mom said while tapping my dad's shoulder. He was on a business call. He gave her an annoyed look.

"I'm sorry I have to go." My dad said into the phone and hung up. "Sorry about that, nice to meet you Sam I'm Lacey's dad."

"Well lets go inside, we have a lot to discuss." My mom said. I was getting really nervous, I don't know it was just awkward. My boyfriend, father of my child and parents all at one table? I never would expect this any day.

We all followed the waitress to our table and sat down.

"So Sam. Tell us about yourself." My dad said. I hope he doesn't embarrass me or Sam.

"Well, I'm 19 I'm from Omaha and I actually went to highschool with Lacey before you moved."

"Oh that's nice. So what do you plan to do with your life?" My dad asked while sipping on water.

"Well right now I'm apart of a tour with Gilinsky and our other friends." He said proudly.

"Tour?" My mom butted in.

"They're vine famous mom." I say kind of irritated.

"Oh okay well that's cool." My mom put on a fake smile. I bet she doesn't even know what Vine is.

"What about when the tour is over?" My dad asked.

"College. I'm planning on going to law school." Sam said back.

"Impressive!" My mom said, "What about you? Jack?" Her smile slightly faded when she faced him. Why was she being a complete bitch?

"Well, I skipped a year of college." Gilinsky started off saying.

"Why would you do something so big like that? You know what they say about the kids who skip the first year of college, they end up on the street somewh-"

"MOM!" I practically yell.

"I'm just telling him about what I read online." She slightly rolled her eyes.

"Mariah. A word?" My dad asked while grabbing her hand and walking outside.

"Your mom hates me." Gilinsky said in disappointment.

"I'm pretty sure she doesn't hate you. Just give her some time." I slightly lied.

"Yeah okay. And how much time would that be?" He scoffed back.

"You just met her yesterday. Be patient." I argued back.

"She met Sam 15 freaking minutes ago and she already loves him!" He whispered loudly.

"Guys I don't want to get involved." Sam said innocently. Before any of us could say anything my parents returned to the table.

"Look Lacey your father and I need to tell you something." My mom said stubbornly.

"Does it have to be right now?" I ask full of annoyance.

"Yes it does. Your father and I are getting a divorce." She said out flatly.

"Um...why?" I ask uncomfortably. Sam and Gilinsky were just sitting there in shock.

"We're drifting apart." My mom said. It's like it didn't even bother her.

"Did you guys think it through completely?" I ask concerned.

"Don't be ridiculous Lacey. We didn't have to think anything through, we just knew it was over. So does everything know what they're going to order?" My mom tried to change the subject.

I stood up, "I'm sorry but this is bullshit." I slightly yell.

"Lacey. Sit down." Gilinsky whispered.

"No Jack. Mom and Dad, I love you dearly but you can't just come up here unexpectedly, harass Genesis's dad and tell me your getting a divorce like it's nothing!" I was mainly targeting my mom. My dad just stayed silent.

"Well what did you want us to do? You barely call us anymore!" My mom argued back.

"Well I'm sorry mom! I'm working, going to school, raising Genesis and trying to reconnect with her dad. I'm sorry that I've been busy and stressed and you're not helping!" I practically yell. People were staring at me like I was insane. I honestly didn't care.

"Well if you really feel that way we'll just leave!" She yelled and got up. Genesis was crying and I hated it. I hated seeing her cry.

My mom got up, "Come on Richard drive me home!" She yelled like a 16 year old. My dad just rolled his eyes and got up.

"I'll see you soon sweetie. I'm sorry about all of this." He kissed me forehead and left.

This was ridiculous. The two people I looked up to the most just let me down. This taught me a lesson. Genesis looks up to me and Jack, we're her parents and we need to be there for her. We can't let her down. I don't want what happened to me just now to happen to her.

I need to fix things with Jack. Soon.
